**N.M. +2 over Col State. Usually don't jump on these weekday games, but after reading up on this one, I like N.Mexico as a good play tonight.
Both are coming off loses with Colorado State losing to Wyoming and N.Mexico losing to UNLV. While Wyoming did a number on Colorado State's defense, the same cannot be said for the N.Mexico game. N.Mexico totaled 578 yards of offense against a pretty good UNLV defense. Meanwhile the N.Mexico defense held UNLV to a total of 229 yards. Yea, how do you lose that game?? Easy, 6 turnovers and about 100 yards in penalties will stop anyone. Ditto for Colorado State penalties wise. Over 100 vs Wyoming last week, but didn't have the Killer turnovers that N.Mexico had.
Colorado State is ranked 2nd in the Mountain West in Rushing, N.Mexico is 3rd. However, N.Mexico has the #5 rush defense in the Country. Colorado State defense is average at best and can be run on. N.Mexico state can be thrown on and that's their weakness. Can Colorado State's pass offense exploit this?? They've been hit or miss and even if they can exploit it, N.Mexico's offense will have an answer. Colorado State defense has been consistantly bad, giving up yards on the ground and through the air. Which Unit will show up? N.Mexico's offense passed for 408 yards against UNLV and should be able to light up Colorado State in the passing game aswell as the rushing attack.
This will be the 2nd week in a row on the road for Col State, and a lot is at stake in the Mountain West game at New Mexico. N.Mexico should rebound, eliminate the turnovers and mistakes that cost them last game and win this one at home. They may get off to a slow start as Colorado has started games well, especially defensively. But fold up shop after that.
