One of the root causes behind Florida finishing the 2007 season with four-losses was the so-so performance they received from an inexperienced secondary. With a year of development under their belt, it was thought that the group would be able to rebound somewhat heading into 2008. However, since the end of spring football in April, the safety position has taken hit after hit. The latest being a knee injury that will likely cause projected starting strong safety Dorian Munroe to miss the season.

The Gators were returning Wright and Munroe - who had both seen extensive action. Add into the mix the emergance of Jamar Hornsby (Five biggest Spring surprises) and Ahmad Black (Spring Hot 11), along with incoming freshmen Will Hill and Dee Finley - and UF looked to be set at safety. Then the bad news began pouring in. Jerimy Finch, the top-rated safety in the 2007 class by TOS, has transferred; Jamar Hornsby was kicked off the team after he allegedly used the credit card of Ashley Slonina, the Florida student who died in a motorcycle accident in October along with former UF football player Michael Guilford; and four-star recruit Dee Finley, the sixth-best safety in the 2008 class by TOS, could not make it academically and will go to prep school at Milford Academy in New York this season.
Oh ya, and backup Safety, John Curtis is out for the season as well.

Who are the "gaytors"??

Is FSU going to field an offensive line this season? Is AJ Ganguzza in line to start? You know, the 2-star, 6'2 255lb stud FSU stole from Florida International. It must suck looking at another .500 season and NCAA probation to follow....

A Nole is talking about pedigree? You douchebags were a pussy all girls schools until what? the mid 80s? What a f***ing joke you guys are. I can't believe that any Nole has the balls to talk sh*t to anyone much less the fans of the team that has kicked the shit out of you for 5 years running. You guys making a bowl game this year is tantamount to someone winning the megaball lottery.

Stupid initial post. Stupid following posts. Don't be dumb enough to talk crap to a team who has recently owned you (ahem, especially you Bama fans)...not that any of these overzealous, brazen fans contributed anything to the gators' recent success.

Ganguzza is 3rd string...first year Trickett special. I know FSU will never be good again, ever, well at least not for another 13 years per gatorcountry, but also don't be dumb enough to think things can't change just like that. I know, no OL, death penalty, Jimbo sucked at LSU, etc, etc, etc. UF will probably lay the drum to the criminolies (ironic moniker) this year again because you just can't be a big boy team with 3 sophomores and 7 freshmen making up the core of your oline. I know as ridiculous, absurd, and outlandish as it seems to you gators, when jimbo and co. get a roster full of their players things could start really looking up, 2-3* OL and all (do a little research on the star ratings of all OL taken in the draft, it's all perspective). Or, FSU could suck forever and ever while UF beats them for all eternity.

This isn't rivals or scout, the flames are gay.

First off this isnt true. Secondly, even if it were, he's a true frosh - no one is expecting huge impact so it wouldn't be that big of a loss...and at DE no less where we are DEEP.

What a complete assclown you are, but then again you are a nole.

Actually, UF WAS counting on him playing significantly and potentially starting this year. Don't start swinging at me now....I'm just repeating what has been reported consistently.

You dont know UF football, if you think Matt Patchan was going to start at DE.

Cunningham and Dunlap have those spots locked up.

The reports I've read have said that he was going to receive significant time on the D-line and would be looked at to possibly start. But, it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other....just letting you know what has been reported from Gainesville.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida tight end Cornelius Ingram will miss the season because of a torn knee ligament.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said Thursday that Ingram, who nearly skipped his season year to jump to the NFL after last season, will undergo surgery within the next week to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

Man, I know your education level is minimal at best having gone to a community college, but if you scroll up you will see that I was referring to Matt Patchan and not CI. And CI's injury only means that Hernandez will get more reps as will Tate Casey. Fear the thumb, and it would already be up had the swindle in the swamp not taken place. Anyway, good luck with yet another dog food bowl appearance.

Florida has injury problems? My heart aches. :realtongu

Five Florida football players have suffered anterior-cruciate ligament (ACL) tears this preseason, and the two newest casualties are freshman linebacker Brendan Beal and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Jim Barrie. Neither was expected to start, but the number of knee injuries at this point in the season is alarming.
