Might as well start of this thread now. The Gators are going back to back and will capture another CFB Title next year. Tebow may or may not win another Heisman; He may ultimately do well in the NFL; that is not the topic of this thread though. This thread is simply to call it out now that Florida goes back2back. Those who disagree feel free to state your thoughts in here. I will be pulling this thread back up after next years championship game and addressing each and everyone who comes in here to slam the Gators so be prepared; and when I slam you don't come back with "That's his last game and now he won't make it in the NFL". When this thread is pulled back up it won't be about what could or couldn't happen in his future in the NFL but instead about the National Title that I called out now. Be prepared if you come in this thread to swallow your pride when I call you out boys!!!!!!

2009-2010 National Champions--- Your Florida Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well of course I have to step up to the plate first. I think Florida has a good chance. I will merely take the field however, and have at my disposal all of the other teams in the NCAA Division 1. I will just play the odds without making any bold predictions. Things like weather, injury, just turnovers in a given game make what you are boldly predicting an against all odds type of thing. I will merely take the odds. It is easy to say you will pull this out again at the end of the season as a tool of retribution and to declare yourself the new Nostradamus. I have not been able to find a Florida schedule for 2009 so I am not even sure who could knock them off during the regular season. I do think it is likely that there will be some teams with one loss in the picture just like this year. I say may the best team win. Sorry to disappoint you.

With how weak it appears the SEC QB's are going to be next year, they certainly have a good chance to get to the BCS Championship. It will probably take two undefeated teams from other conference and at least one maybe even two losses to keep FLA out.

Easy Mr. Money; those time frames are way too far in the future. Winning national championships is hard to do and the odds are against it (no matter how talented your roster is).

So many things change between now and next January.

Have to take OU and FLorida as the favorites for Pasadena.

I really wish Sanchez came back, USC would have played UF.

It looked like USC was going to win a bunch of titles in a row, but then Vince Young beat them and I haven't see them there since. You still need some luck. Florida shoud feel extremely fortunate to have 2 titles recently considering they DID NOT go undefeated in either of those seasons. Auburn went undefeated a few years back and didn't even get a chance to play for the title. If the SEC is really as good as some people tout it then Florida fans should realize there is no easy road back to the title game. Yes, the SEC has won 3 titles in a row, but they lost their godlike status in the
Utah-Alabama game.

How scary is it that you return 8 out of 9 starters back from a stout championship defense, and 7 starters back on offense including Tebow.
Yes they lose Harvin, Murphy, but Demps and Rainey will be sophomores after excellent frosh seasons.
The schedule is VERY favorable with the only possible roadblock during the season the game @LSU. We'll see how the sophomore QB Jefferson handles the pressure. UGA loses Stafford, Moreno, Massaquoi and starters on both sides of the ball. FSU and UT is at the Swamp and Ole Miss and BAMA both lose a lot of starters if they play either in SEC championship.
USC just lost Sanchez and they lose EIGHT starters on defense. It will be very tough to get there. OU loses more starters than Texas, especially on the OL although they get back Bradford. I see Texas making it to Pasadena. After the game vs. the Sooners, their toughest test will be @Okla. St, with the schedule being favorable.
It looks great for Florida, go Gators!!!

I really wanted the Gators to play USC and shut up all the Trojan fans that I've had to live with my whole life. I think USC deserved a shot in a BCS game other than the weak Little 10 team that they have to play every year. I was actually quite angry today when I heard that Sanchez was leaving for the NFL!

It kills me that you Floridians are already counting on being in the BCS finale next year like it is a given. Actually the odds are against you. It is laughable to make that assumption. USC losing Sanchez and wanting to prove something without even knowing you are going to be there is way past presumptuous. As far as Texas goes, I think they will lose two games next year. I could be on here saying OU will get you next year and making stupid bold predictions like you guys but it is stupid to do so. Next year is next year. Florida lost one (at home) last year and could lose one or more this year. It is really hard to be up for every game and anyone who has competed at any level knows that. I will still take the field and there is a possibility that Florida may not make the big one next year. If that happens and Tebow does not win the Heisman again I want to see you guys assemble for one last gator chop just before two other teams square off for next years national title.

USC's OOC schedule has been far far tougher than the gaytor's who don't EVER travel out of the state, much less the south. They've played everyone who wants them. Who and where has Florida played nationally? Nobody. They could schedule a home/home series with USC anytime they want, but they won't. Meanwhile, USC travels almost everywhere. (So does the rest of their conference.) So it's not a matter of luck that they haven't played, it's by choice. Maybe if they were willing to swap home games, that would shut up your USC adversaries or prove you wrong. Scary thought unless you are a USC fan. USC is used to it. Florida is not. That's why they will never rank in my book. They refuse to play outside of their own state. They refuse to lay it on the line year after year the way USC does.

How can you claim superiority if you are unwilling to take on all comers, and even avoid them? You could end this speculation any time you wanted to. You are stuck with the consequences of your own decisions.

OH and by the way, USC has Aaron Corp and another #1 All American prep QB Matt Barkley joining the team this year. Corp nearly beat out Sanchez for the starting job last fall. Losing Sanchez isn't a fatal blow. I'm surprised to see all this Sanchez love anyway. A few weeks ago he wasn't even rated in your book. All that talk about USC's offense was just a bunch more SEC BS. They put up more points vs PSU in the 1st half of the Rose Bowl than anyone has in an entire game for at least 2 years. You know almost nothing about them.

GAYTORS - Best one I have heard yet. You know if Tebow did not return they were going to have stand up posters of him on the sidelines and one for the huddle. Just standing by the poster would probably make you a better person. GAYTORS - i am loving it. Thank you, you made my day.

You don't have at your disposal "all of the other teams in the NCAA Division 1" as you say. You have only the teams that are on the Gators schedule. If none of them give Florida a loss let"s say then you lose.
Will See you next January when I pull this thread up and call you out with the I told you so's. Be ready!!

Yeah I guess LSU didn't help our "godlike" status as you put it! There's no Vince Young in CFB today. Gators keep in mind, are the youngest team ever to win the NC this year. Mostly all of the key players are coming back. Defense is playing great and will only get better with another year of meshing. Offense will be just as good if not even better. We'll talk next year.

Did I read your thread correctly. did you say Florida coule lose one or MORE this year???? Can I get some action on the MORE? Anyone can say any team can lose one. But to say the Gators could lose more than one??!! Let's bet it. I say 1 or less you take the over. How about a $3,000-$5,000 bet. If they lose 2 or more you win and if they lose 1 or less I win. Shall we get in touch with Wil or any other mods to set this up? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!!! Don't come in here spewing out crap that you don't even believe. Now if you want this bet I will be glad to take it based on what YOU wrote. If not don't even bother to come back in this thread or I will continue to ask you about the "MORE" bet! See you next year, hopefully if you take this bet with $3K-$5K more in my pocket!

OK so let me see. Because the "gaytors" (that's like cursing because when you make fun of another teams name and try to be whitty is just like cursing in an argument. It makes you look stupid) have hever played USC, That means exactly what????? Hmmmm. Let's see. The Gators never played Oklahoma before this year and what happend? Oh they won that one. USC might do this and that as you say but none of that means anything if you can't get to the big one! Why not just get there next year and we can settle this. Gators will be there. Where will the Trojans be? See you next year when I blast you when I pull this thread back up in January. Nothing would be sweeter than to beat you in your own backyard in the Rose Bowl. Can you get there? The Orange Bowl was this years site fot the National Championship right in our backyard. We were there and we won it. Difference is next year we will be in the Rose Bowl. Will you? and if you are You WILL get beat in Your own back yard

On a side note, I am sending Pete Caroll a box of Choclates and a box of Kleenix. I feel bad for him crying on TV about Sanchez leaving. Tim Tebow wanted to give him a hug and tell him it's going to be alright.

You'll do fine Conan. Go play Penn St agian next year or some other team in maybe what the Fiesta Bowl? You are great at winning the lesser bowl games but not at getting there lately. See you in January.

Bet. Did you say bet? It's too early to talk about bets. Are you kidding me. Bets? You are a joke. The pity of it all is that it is all smoke about next year. You are a fool if you think Florida will be there again next year.
They could lose one or two games next year. Wouldn't surprise anyone but you. As for as betting goes, you couldn't pay the juice (even if it was orange), much less the bet. You brought up the bet gimmick because you are a jerk. If you look in the mirror you will see what one looks like. Why do you have to put down all the other teams, USC or whoever. Obviously you have no class (maybe because you neve attended one), and the whole idea of identifying yourself as a winner just because of some distant
psudo-relationship with UF is hilarious and probably an embarrassment to UF. Please for all of our sakes, go spend five minutes with Tebow.

Yes. I guess it's all just a dream that I am a Dr. in Jacksonville, FL. I really didn't attend UF actuallly go through Medical School there and at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I don't really practice at a Hospital in Jacksonville currently and it's all a big dream that I have been here since '96 practicing Cardiology and Living in the house that I do with my Family. Yeah I guess I never attended a class there. hmmm. No I did.

Now as for your comment about putting down all the other teams. Well there can be only 1 National Champ unless it's a split in the polls. I am sure USC and OK and UT will all have fine years and go to their bowl games and probably finish off the season with wins. The bottom line is you won't find a poll anywhere that won't have UF #1 preseason. So if the Gators go "undefeated" and run the table and win the bowl; then the reality of it all is that they will win b2b Titles.

Now if you would like to have a logical discusion without calling people Jerks and state the reasons you don't think UF will repeat than we can have that discussion. Their defense that held the #1 offense in the history of CFB to a mere 14 points will be back including Spikes and they will be better next year. The offense returns Demps and Rainey and Moody at RB. Receivers retuning are Nelson ( Huge catches in both SEC and National Title game) Carl Moore and Riley among the 3 Redshirt freshman receivers and the incoming recruits at this position as well. Hernandez returns at TE. Tebow back at QB. Looks like a winner to me. I guess it is easier to try to comback at me by calling me a jerk and say I am putting down the other teams instead of focusing at the reality of facts with this team. LSU will probably be our toughest game and may end up playing them twice (again in the Title game.) Gators will be undefeated next year. Who's your team russ? Let's compare solid facts about my team and your team and have a discussion. Go Gators!!!!!!

Touchy touchy gaytor,

Maybe they'll play Penn St., maybe not. Maybe it will be another B-10 team maybe not. But one thing they will do is win 5 big games vs nationally ranked BCS powers to your one.

(... scratch that idea if it's Michigan who you wind up playing again.)

Ok. We have finally elevated this discussion. My team is OU, has been for over 50 years. I think that OU may be stronger next year than this year. Their offense has QB, (3) HB's, (2) tight ends, and will be behind a much stronger OL than most people know. In fact, the OL that left were notorious for stupid penalties (remember #72) and I think were hyped up.
On defense it looks really good and no matter what happens we will have three middle linebackers with experience (if Reynolds returns). Our achilles heel was really special teams. They have a recruit, a home town boy from Norman, who kicks the ball in the end zone on a regular basis.
The special teams out performed (or at least equalled) Florida's special teams. All in all I do not think Floridas team speed stood out against OU.
You must admit that we played you in Florida without at least (2) key players and without a middle line backer. If Reynolds does return and stay healthy he is a major factor. He made three tackles for losses against Texas in the first half before he was injured (you know what happened after he left the game). OU's defense is geared to get the middle line backer active
and free to make tackles. Nobody and I mean nobody will be as deep as OU is at half back. We have one of the active Heisman QB's still active.
We have a true All-American tight end. We have McCoy back on defense.
He is an honor student and a truly motivated leader who's mother died his Freshman year. If OU beats Texas, wins the rest of their conference games, they have a strong non-conference schedule that could prove useful in the polls. If they emerge undefeated they are a shoe in. Now ask yourself why did no under graduates declare for the draft early. Because they are on a mission. Maybe that and a dollar get you a cup of coffee but they are highly motivated and they want vindication. Can guarantee you they will go undefeated or maybe have one loss, No. But if they do they will be there for the big one. I am not as cock sure as you but it is doable. At least they have a chance of playing someone on a truly neutral field for once.
