McElwain has got the Florida Gators moving in a positive direction. I honestly hated to see him leave Alabama and move on for a head coaching job at Colorado St. This weekend at LSU poses his biggest challenge as a head coach. He takes his undefeated Gators to LSU under the lights. Big problem. Florida DOES NOT match up well with LSU and here is why. LSU is a strong, pound it down your throat type of offense with Fournette. The Gators have not faced a run first pass second type of offense yet. LSU will dominate them with there size and strength. Locking this one in early. Good luck to all.

Well my key to the LOCK remains open.

Is LSU's DEFENSE better than Florida?
Is LSU's QUARTERBACK better than Florida?
Is LSU's run game ENOUGH to beat Florida?

Saying LSU will dominate the Gators is a 'bandaid" for a "LOCK' gamer.

LSU opens up as a 7 1/2 point favorite vs Florida. I guess Vegas does not have a clue on what they are doing.

I'm a Gator fan, and I agree that LSU likely wins this one straight up. UF's O is mediocre, at best....and it's mostly due to the inexperienced OL.

However, just to play devil's advocate: UF does match up w/ LSU, as UF likely has the best D in the SEC. UF's DL rotation is 10 deep, plenty of depth to handle the running game. The LB situation is a weakness for UF's D.

UF was coached by a bonafide retard last season and should have won if the TE catches the wide open pass in the endzone....similar teams matching up this weekend.

If Florida doesn't turn it over more than 1 time I think they have a chance to keep it close. I wouldn't bet this at 7.5 if I was taking LSU. I'd take it under 7 though (and I've seen the line move lower).

Please explain to the RXForum what you just said about a gamer playing the SPREAD set by Las Vegas for either team.

Jesus....what SILLYNESS, especially for betting on a SEC football game. GL Vegas Expert (TN)......I'll take the 7.5 and be happy.

Dont think i really ever said anything about being a Vegas expert there CL. I just stated in the above thread that i expect LSU to dominate Florida on Saturday. Don't think i ever said it was a " LOCK" as you call it there CL. I clearly stated that i am locking this one in early ( the line ). The oddsmakers are expecting LSU to win was my only point there CL. No need to bring Jesus into the equation.

I agree tide nation...no need for either of us to bring our savior into this. I'm leaning Florida...GL with your play.
Personally, don't think the FATHER really cares one way or the other.

You are right Clover......The Almighty has a lot more important things to worry about than whether Louisiana State or the University of Florida wins a football game. FWI: I too, like Florida plus the points; The Gators have, arguably, one the best defenses in the Country. 21 to 24 points could be enough to win this game if they (Florida) can reach these numbers.
My concern for Florida having to play back-to-back road games West of the Mississippi River.

I do not like the current line of LSU -6, but I just can't bet the Gators, because I think they will lose this game.

Florida's defense is considered to be excellent by everyone with a microphone in front of a camera......but the Gators have not faced an offense (#1 in the SEC) like LSU's. Tenessee rushed for 250 yards on the Gators and LSU's rush offense is much better than Tennessee's. I see this as a really great, low scoring game but do not see UF stopping LSU.

Pete, the Ole Miss O was pretty good. And UTs O is pretty solid. The rushing numbers by UT are slightly skewed due to some busted plays where the QB got loose and put up some big yards....but still more rushing yards than you'd expect from a great defense. Florida also has the revenge factor and they've faced Fournette before. I expect a good game....unless UF turns it over multiple times.

There are reports that Will Grier will be suspended for the rest of the season. I'm seeing LSU UF game off the board now.

peanut butter sandwiches? yeah, maybe popcorn-eatinggif

[h=1]This Florida QB has put on an insane amount of weight[/h] August 3, 2015 | Filed in: AJC Sports, College football, SEC football.

Will Grier (AP file)

There is nothing quite like the old college-football-weight-gain plan.
And it seems to have done wonders for Florida quarterback Will Grier, who’s reportedly taken the “freshman 15” to a new level. Apparently, he’s bulked up to 215 pounds after weighing in at 172 as a freshman.
That’s a significant increase. Grier basically went from being a super middleweight to a heavyweight over the course of a year. You have to wonder what in the world he ate throughout his freshman year, because we all know it wasn’t the old peanut-butter-sandwich trick.
With his new size, Grier will likely have a good shot at dethroning sophomore quarterback Treon Harris for the starting gig. Last year, Harris threw for 1,019 yards and nine touchdowns while Grier was redshirted.
Maybe he brought peanut butter sandwiches to the game. Whatever the case may be, his father, Chad, is just happy he’s been stuffing his face like a bodybuilder.

Anybody still want Florida and 7 1/2 with Treon Harris? What about you CL? I dont see how you can take the 7 1/2 and be happy as you say. Florida came out a few weeks ago and said Greer had the " FLU" the week of the Ole Miss game. What a cover up. Dude tested positive for PED's before that game and the Florida coaching staff knew about it. Now it is surfacing. What sillyness huh CL?

interesting...

Will Grier’s suspension means LSU faces a back-up QB for 4th straight game (Syracuse, Eastern Michigan & South Carolina) via @RabalaisAdv 6m

Dude, hindsight is damn sure 20/20 isn't it? CL (or you, or anyone else) did not know Grier would miss the game until just an hour or so ago....
