i was thinking of converting my car to alcohol. i can make the fuel out of starch and old doughnuts for roughly 30-40 cents a gallon.

alcohol is better then fuel, leaves no carbon behind, and keeps your engine running longer. you can buy a conversion kit for 300. roughly 5-10 percent less MPG but i mean i'm running a clean, more efficient car with a better fuel, ill take that anyday.

It has killed so many small businesses around here it is silly. I had $450 in gas surcharges last month alone from the different people who deliver shit.

And those aren't going away ever.

Spending $120 per week in gas which is double my car payment. It's absolutely brutal. Today I have seen as low as $3.79 and as high as $3.93.

drive off at gas stations at an all time high. paying people here to go inside and use cash instead of check card because of the increased fees the owners have to pay for the high gas prices.

Never even thought about that. They pay a % of the total bill to the card company. Higher Prices @ the pump, higher total sales = higher fees. Sheesh everyone is getting f'ed

I've gone from spending about 1% of my disposable income on gas to about 2.0%. No, it's not changing what I do.

I wonder about those 12 people who voted "i'm okay."

For those in that position, what is your breaking point? $5? $6? $8? $10 $20?

I was considering buying a hydrogen car when they become more available. Then I found out that hydrogen cars use more carbon than a hybrid. It takes more carbon to process the hydrogen than it does to burn gas and use electricity in a hybrid.
