I agree with Harry. Nothing like a steak cooked over charcoal and oak wood chips.

I highly highly recommend Infared Technology grills... I swear my steaks cooked on that thing rival any steak restrurant.

I bought a cheaper one but my friend has one with the cast iron grates and I say get the upgraded.

Also by an nice grill cover to avoid rust

I have a Char-Broil infrared. I like it a lot but one thing I don't like is that it doesn't get that crust on the outside because there's no direct flame.

Dude axed about GAS GRILLS...any sane person understands that it is inferior to charcoal or wood....sometimes, just like sex.......you want it quick, without all the foreplay.

Thanks guys for the advice
While I was intrigued by the infrared technology, we decided against it since it didnt seem quite like "grilling" and we cook a lot of fish. We determined the features of importance were: 500+sq inches of cooking space and cast iron grill plates. From there we narrowed our search down to...

The Weber has the brand quality and is made substantially more sturdy. Also, the drip plan feature was much nicer. However we liked that the Brickman's gas pipes run vertical rather than the Weber's horizontal pipes, also there are 4 instead of 3. Also, the controls our on the face of the grill rather than off to the right. The right side of the Brickman has a small burner too. Lastly, BM offers more BTUs.

In the end we couldn't justify spending $330 more for just the brand name when in actuality we liked the features of the Brickman. My main concern is that the grill doesnt fall apart by the end of season, I'm hoping for a few years out of it. :toast:

oh by the way, we already have a Weber charcoal grill but we need something for weeknights

Thanks for reporting back on what you decided... So often we have these threads and the OP never tells us what they ended up with.

Looks nice for the price...like I said I prefer charcoal but if you're gonna go gas that looks pretty nice. You get what you pay for though, but if it lasts you a few years it's well worth it.
