21 seasons in the Bigs, will probably get to 500 HR next year, .293 avg, 9-time All Star, 248 SB, played on a WS Champ, Batting Title, Top 100/30 in several major categories (HR, Hits, RBI). Just a thought that came to mind.

Well at least he didn't Marion Jones about it. More likeable probally not a first ballot guy but has been on several winning teams. Probally has 2 or 3 good years left if he can stay away from the DL.

I think he will absolutely 100% be in the Hall of Fame, and deservingly so. Come on Andre Dawson just made the Hall. Not saying he didn't deserve it but Sheffield is a better player then Dawson.

Numbers: Dawson's after 21 seasons and this is Sheffield's 21st season.

Dawson - All-star Games 8, Homeruns 438, Hits 2774, RBI's 1591, OBP .323, career average .279

Sheffield - All-star Games 9, Homeruns 488, Hits 2573, RBI's 1604, OBP .395, career average .293

Do they have a Hall of Fame for running your mouth? If so, he's a first ballot lock.

Andre Dawson just made the Hall? Really? I must've done a Rip Van Winkle and missed that one. As for Sheffield, don't hold your breath:

1) Black and preceived as surly (see Jim Rice and Albert Bell, with the latter being, like Sheffield, a troublemaker to boot)

2) Suspected Juicer

3) Ratted on Bonds for something he, Sheffield, was doing. Not cool, and that all adds up to, no shot...
