Gamecube, Playstation 2, or Xbox?

I sold off my Gamecube because there weren't any new games but am thinking about buying another one.

PS2 and Xbox have alot more games but I've gone through 2 XBox's and one PS2 in like 4 months. Had the Gamecube for a year with no problems.

It just doesn't break down like the others do, but it's becomming somewhat obsolete.

I don't really want to pay $500 for one of the new systems just yet either... The Wii, PS3, etc etc.

Any advice? Have I just had bad luck with the other two systems?

Wii is cheap ($250) and can play GCN games. Probably your best bet given your situation.

I have no idea what you're doing with your systems but I've had an XBOX since launch and have never had it break or even freeze, nor has anyone I know. Are you transporting it a lot? I heard there are some problems with PS2s but I don't know much about it.

If you are looking for a 'cube you can probably find one at a pawn shop or ebay for under $50, though if breaking is your concern you may want to find a new one.

The wii is cheap compared to the other new systems. $250 or so. I'd get that.

I'd go for Xbox 360...not much more expensive than the Wii and pretty much agreed upon as the best of the next-gen systems at this point.

360 is the one. Why would you want to play last generation games. Core 360 shouldn't be much more than the wii.

The main drawback on the Wii is our dog that gets excited and goes crazy whenever you move anywhere. That arm movement means she'll be jumpin all over me while I try to play.

Still, not a bad deal since you can play Gamecube stuff as well.

Are all the new systems HD ready?

Haha I'm still young enough at age 23. Plus it's about the only thing me and the girlfriend can agree on when we are at home.

I set up TVs in two other rooms just so I don't have to watch her crappy makeover, model, and other BS wedding and home decoration shows. That's hell.

She doesn't like Madden which is my bread and butter, but put her in front of a game where you can kill monsters and take their stuff and go buy better stuff, she'll be all over it.

I'd pay the xtra for the wii. I have a PS2, but I haven't touched it in months.
