The Marlins needed 20 innings to score two runs Saturday and they only faced one lefty for less than an inning. Niese is back after being on DL and he has 5 QS in last 6 starts against Miami. He was brilliant in his three starts prior to his injury that forced him to go on the DL. The Mets now scored 2 runs or less in 7 of last 12 games played. They only scored 1 run in 20 innings Saturday, going 0/19 with runners in scoring position - a franchise record. They are going against Koehler who is doing well since promoted to the starting position. In 5 starts this season he allowed 13 ER in 30 IP for an ERA of 3.9. Having said all that, this is still a small play for me: Under 7.5.

Under 7.5 in the Cardinals game. Wacha has a good control and now he is going against a team that can not hit. The Mets are dead last in the MLB in BA and hits. All the ingredients are there for a good game by Wacha. Hefner ERA is way too high and his record is way too bad for someone who has 7 quality starts already this season. His control improved lately and he has 37 Ks and only 10 BBs in last 7 starts. Only Harvey has a better H/IP ratio than Hefner out of 6 NYM starters with 7 starts or more. He has problems with home runs but Cardinals are not a good home runs hitting team (tied at #23 in MLB). Also, he allowed 7 homers in first 14 innings pitched and only 4 home runs in last 50 innings pitched.
