No pitching change - looks like a loss.

Not so fast! 8-0 final! Thanks for the winner! It's never over when we are opposite of buddylou's monster public totals! Too bad he won't be around for a month!

Miami is 4-14 against lefty starters this season with under standing at 14-4 in those games. They scored 1.7 runs per game in those 18 games and the opposing starters allowed 22 ER in 115.1 IP for an ERA of 1.72. The Marlins needed 20 innings to score two runs Saturday and they only faced one lefty for less than an inning. Niese is back after being on DL and he has 5 QS in last 6 starts against Miami. He was brilliant in his three starts prior to his injury that forced him to go on the DL. The Mets now scored 2 runs or less in 7 of last 12 games played. They only scored 1 run in 20 innings Saturday, going 0/19 with runners in scoring position - a franchise record. They are going against Koehler who is doing well since promoted to the starting position. In 5 starts this season he allowed 13 ER in 30 IP for an ERA of 3.9. Having said all that, this is still a small play for me: Under 7.5.

under 7 in miami monday. gallardo career era against miami is 1.59 in 5 starts and that is exactly what the doctor ordered for him after three straight starts where he allowed at least 4 earned runs. miami is going with nolasco who has 4 quality starts in a row. nolasco dominated this same opponent the last time he faced them.

On it. let's hope for great pitching in the pitcher friendly ballpark. Only thing that scares me is their ERAs.

8-1-1 run...

Under 7.5 in the Cardinals game. Wacha has a good control and now he is going against a team that can not hit. The Mets are dead last in the MLB in BA and hits. All the ingredients are there for a good game by Wacha. Hefner ERA is way too high and his record is way too bad for someone who has 7 quality starts already this season. His control improved lately and he has 37 Ks and only 10 BBs in last 7 starts. Only Harvey has a better H/IP ratio than Hefner out of 6 NYM starters with 7 starts or more. He has problems with home runs but Cardinals are not a good home runs hitting team (tied at #23 in MLB). Also, he allowed 7 homers in first 14 innings pitched and only 4 home runs in last 50 innings pitched.
