I was curious what you degenerate gamblers thought on betting on the Little League World Series....

I have seen very few things that you can bet on that has bothered me. The most recent was a prop bet when Obama first got elected on whether he would make it through his first term. (I am Assuming it was a bet on avoiding impeachment and assassination ) Thought that was a little messed up. Please no political discussion here....

But I remember last year I started to see that you could bet on the LLWS. I am originally from Williamsport, PA where the LLWS are held. I played in the "Original" Little League League. It is a very sacred event to me.

What happens if one of these kids fathers really is a sh8t hole of a parent and tries to get their kid to throw the game? Or maybe puts more pressure on him to win... Doesn't it cross a line being that they are kids....

However, as I was watching the regional games the past week, I was finding myself trying to handicap these teams... I dont think I would ever bet on it because how sacred I find it, but is crazy that you can, isn't it?

last year? you are 10 years late to the party.

Sometimes athletes and teams introduce us to difficult choices. Take the Plex Burris prison sentence for instance; I still do not know which side my opinion falls. Betting children is different and this is why: I think we should all be free to wager on the make of the next car rounding the corner in front of our house, but wagering on youngsters who might be too young to understand the implications and rules regarding possibilities of wagers on their game is as slimy as betting special olympics. Small dirty money leveraged in a college game is one thing. But the possibility of small dirty money leveraged against twelve year olds should earn you and your dollars a seat in hell.

I have trouble wagering on 12 year olds.
It just doesn't feel right, kind of dirty.

Another this is, how do you 'cap these games, you have no idea who is who, or what is what.
Lastly, there is that ridiclulous juice books charge.
I'd rather wager on Norwegian handball.

exactly.... well maybe railbird has these games capped

Better question is, why should anyone care about these games, except for the areas these teams are from? Seriously.

I know a guy who takes work off every year to drive 9 hours to see this. WTF?

Have a real hard time betting LL when you see a 6'3'' kid weighing in at 230...and only 13 years old...

Staten Island has already lost one. Three teams remain unbeaten, but from what I have seen the team from Chula Vista, Calif. looks unbeatable. We'll see..........Warner Robins is probably the favorite since they won it all a couple years ago.

Looks like Chula Vista, Calif. will be punching there way to the LLWS with 9 runs in the first inning against Texas. Chula Vista just has too much power. I find it hard to believe Ramirez for Chula Vista is only 12 or 13 yrs old. That kids a monster. I guess we will see if they can continue hitting the long ball against Chinese Taipei, but I'm guessing the Chinese pitching will keep the California boys in the park for the most part. They don't give up many runs that's for sure. Hopefully California can keep it going for one more game.
