My advice to those wanting to pursue gambling as a career.......

DIVERSIFY

Not only in different sports, but other gambling options not related to sportsbetting that offer the player +EV advantages(be an advantage player).

These would include, but are not limited to.................

1. Poker
2. Blackjack
3. Video Poker
4. Rare slot machines
5. Pari-mutual wagering

I think I might have posted the question the wrong way. And whats with all the basking on here. Are we not here to make money-Whats the deal with all the haters.

All I was asking - Was what is your daily routine. Do you use a line service. I am comfortable with my knowledge and picks just wanted some more info. I have been playing for a long time so I am no newbie. I was playing offshore and when half of you did not even know it existed.

1. Look at the schedule when I wake up, if I haven't already the previous day.

2. Then I go through and set the lines and totals for what I think they should be, not what they will actually be. (For example) Texas Missouri, I set at 138, but it was 148, so for me that was an automatic play. I am not trying to guess what they are making it.

3. Look at the lines, cirlce anything that stands out to me that I may have not liked earlier. Say it is a night with 40 games. I go through and circle my 10 or 15 best sides and totals. Then I narrow it down to my a favorite plays, usually between 2-5 plays.

4. Research the games, stats, injuries, etc. If there is a line I like I book it right away. For example, yesterday I like SYR, got it -1.5, had waited, I could have gotten +100, but for me I thought the line would go up, going up would have been worse for me, so I booked it. Sometimes i wait for some movement to see if the line gets to where I want it.

5. Once the game starts, I have room with 5 TV set up, so I sit there and watch all the games and on laptop keep 3 scoreboards up to make sure I have accurate scores and attempt to pay attention to stats to see if a team is shooting very poorly or very well and want to take them or go the other way in the 2nd half.

I don't necessarily agree. One person can only do so much. I say better to focus on what you are best at (and enjoy)...unless you really feel you have so much time left over to pursue other avenues.

Do you ever make it a bigger play when the line moves in your favor? I got SYR at -1.5 yesterday as well, but when it jumped to PK +115 right before gametime I wanted to to throw a couple more units on it, but couldn't pull the trigger, thinking I had missed a key injury report or something.

No, I don't. I know many people add to it.

Sometimes it can help you or hurt you. I personally don't worry about line movements, maybe that is dumb on my part.

I know some wager based on line movements.

Whats going on Fellas. I know there has been a few posts on here about this. Just wanted to get some more info and daily routines. I have been gambling for about 18 years now and have done well for myself and I can pick winners. But money management seems to always screw me. I have that go big or go home attitude. I have set myself straight lately and I have set my goals to win a $125.00 a day. But my question is do peolpe on here have some kind of routine do you belong to a line service and if so which one.Do you nrowse forums all day. What time does your day start. Just want to get some more information to help me out-I could be missing something. I have about two -three places I play,Bet Jamaica being my number 1 out. Thanks for any responses

What is you long term win rate? at -110 and 54% win rate you will need to average $4000 a night in action to hit your $125 or so. Do you have that much action a night?

If you have been betting for that long consistently picking winners, all you have to do is flat bet (don't risk more on some games than others) and get reduced juice. There are places where you can get -105 offshore and if you use matchbook/pinny you will sometimes get + money. Don't try to go big or go home, because eventually you will go home. If you can pick at over 52% and flat bet with reduced juice you will win money over the long term.

You can make a decent living at this, but it's nearly impossible simply by "picking winners" in mainstream sports. I suppose there are some that can get it done, but they are a rare breed, indeed.

Your best shot is to master one of the more obscure sports, such as Nascar, Golf, or Tennis. You'll need to have at least 8-10 outs, shop for the best prices, and know your sport of choice like the back of your hand. You'll also need to have a pretty strong grasp of math....if you are not strong in this department you probably won't make it.
