Good luck finding good hockey info like that. Truth is you really don't know because I think it is part of the game. I remember one time I went to a Sharks game and was watching the warmups. Owen Nolan had not played in three games and was questionable. He was suited up and skating around and looked fine, maybe a little slow. Game starts and he is nowhere to be found, he was scratched again. Official report was that he reinjured himself out there, but looked like total BS to me. Sure enough he goes on the DL the next day. I am certain the coaches were just playing a game. Same thing with goalies, a lot of times the coaches will tell the press who they will start in certain games, but once in awhile they don't follow the plan. If you played the game expecting the backup because of something you read that said Brodeur was getting a game off and then you see in the boxscore he shut out the opponent making 34 saves you would know what I mean
