Any coincidence that this happens a week before free agency begins?? It is widely known he wants to play with his buddy Demitra and a lot of people are now speculating that he will sign with the Canucks, I guess we'll soon find out. I wonder if that would mean the Sedins are on the way out of town or if GM Mike Gillis is gonna find a way to keep them with longer term but less money contracts? Should be a very interesting couple weeks in Vancouver once July 1 rolls around

Mikael Samuelsson of the Red Wings just sold his this week. Evidently, the Wings WILL be trying hard to sign Hossa. I, personally hate to see Samuelsson leave the Wings. He'll be a fine pickup for some team.

He was there once. Didn't work out very well the 1st time around. Interesting how his career took off [stat wise] when he got to Detroit. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2549/career;_ylt=AkGgf328oslF9LBHGbaSYeZivLYF
He fit in well with the other Swedes in Detroit. Maybe he needs the right situation to flourish. For some reason a lot of Wings fans weren't very fond of him. I disagreed with all of them. He's big [6-2] strong, tough, versatile [can play both forward and D on the PP] and never backed down from anyone. Which is something the Wings lacked, especially choosing not to carry an enforcer on their roster. I wish him the best where ever he ends up. He always gave the Wings 100% every shift.

OK, gonna sound rude here......but the Wings fans have become spoiled, and with good reason. He would be a perfect fit here, now that the Pens have developed more of an idenity.

I agree, He'd be a good fit in a lot of places. Enjoy your Cup, because repeating is extreamly difficult without something to REALLY motivate them. You have a rookie coach who will have all the rigors of an entire season to deal with next year as well. Pens got hot and rode a nice wave all the way to the beach. There will be more ups and downs next season. July 1st will be interesting.

At least your teams participate in FA--our local-the Sabres have to be told when it begins and then they watch it go by

Are you trying to say your boys are hanging out at the Anchor Bar a little more than they should?

In all likelihood, Samuelsson was gonna be gone after this year any Bushay. The Hossa situation just reinforced it. I liked the guy, gave his all and would step up when asked. I didnt care to see him on defense, but he's a solid player.

I personally dont want to sacrifice everything just to get Hossa back, but if getting rid of Samuelsson seals the deal, I'm all for it. Nothing to do with being spoiled. The Wings are the best organization in pro sports because they will do everything they can to get and keep top notch talent, and players who fit their system.
