Introduced as the Todd Gurley Bill. Punishment for people who pay student athletes for paying for autographs. College football is huge here in the peach state and I really think this is a good law. Seems crazy that it would make a law, but I agree with it. It does take two to tango, but I really think others will join the movement. Keep the slime ball salesman from ruining the game to profit off the kids.

Thoughts???

Sure, it's a "good" law. But there's better things for the government to worry about.

I'm very much in favor of punishing all parties involved. As you said it takes 2 to tango. ...But if we turn ncaa rules into state laws , the punishment for the player is going to have to be more severe than a suspension. We cant suspend a player and then take legal action against the promoter , the player should have to be accountable too.

Good Idea in my oppinion.

I agree that the idea is good, but it is really none of the States business. Why not do it the easy way. Before each season, say around July 1st, have each University print a set of rules explaining exactly what a player is NOT allowed to do. Spell it out in everyday simple English, because we all know that 50% of these players have to look at their Social Security Cards to remember their names. Make each athlete read the rules out loud. Allow the athlete time to ask any questions he/she may have about any rule. Have the athlete sign for them and give the athlete a copy of the rules. You can also post a copy of the rules in various places around the gyms and practice facilities. That should take care of the problem, no matter how stupid/ignorant the athlete is.
