mls,
I have DBS Premium and G&J Gold Service (as a trial offer was extended by the fine folks of G&J).
DBS Premium is quicker updating their lines. For instance, I have accounts and Hollywood and Grande and both of these move faster on DBS than they do on G&J. Also, I can confirm with these two books, the lines are accurate on DBS. They are NOT accurate on G&J (in other words, the lines are different on the G&J screen than what is actually posted at Grande and Hollywood). RIO, SKYBOOK, Pinnacle and a few others that are on both services also move faster at DBS, but I cannot confirm if they are the accurate lines being posted on either service, as I do not have accounts with any of these books.
On average, G&J updates 15-20 seconds slower. Price wise, it's no comparison as G&J is much cheaper. Feature wise, DBS has them beat. User friendliness, DBS has them beat. Stability of the software, DBS has them beat. Asthetically appealing, DBS has them beat.
It's good that there are TWO good lines services now (not counting Jim Feist or Rx), as competition only benefits the player, but G&J, in my opinion, is just not there yet. But I do know they are very appreciative of the user feedback and are very willing to work out a deal to keep their customers happy.
DBS has been the king for so long. It's just going to take some time for G&J to catch up to them. But I do think they are on the right track.
Hope this helps.
