Frog, you act like you have 10 dimes on the Spurs in the series, and are trying to talk yourself into letting it ride instead of playing it back on the Lakers and taking the profit. I'm telling you right now, do the smart thing and play the Lakers back. You'll be glad you did

Shaq is not going to continue to shoot 30% from the foul line, George is starting to shoot the ball better, Payton will step up his game this series, they're going to go with the lineup of Fisher, Payton, Kobe, Shaq, and Malone alot more this series, which is the Lakers best lineup. The mistake alot of people are making in handicapping this series is that the Spurs will continue to shoot lights out from 3 point range, and Shaq will continue to shoot 30% from the stripe. Those things won't continue. Kobe missed alot of games this year, Malone missed 50 games or so, Duncan only missed 10 or so, and the Lakers still had basically the same record as the Spurs this year. People, you can't forget all of these factors. Something tells me the 'square' money on the Lakers as it has been called be some on this board, will actually be the sharp money before this series is over. Good luck to all.

Greetings Redneckman. Not sure how much I have on this series. I have TWolfs also, so not all eggs in one basket. Why will Shaq's ft% improve, because it has to? To say he has regressed at the line is an understatement. Not buying that. George? How many minutes does he play? Would hate to overlook his contributions. Payton will step up his game? Against Parker? Nope, just do not see that either. You know Redneckman, if I did not know better, I would say this you are suffering from the wishful thinking syndrome. Will the Spurs continue to shoot lights out from 3? Of course not. I never said they would. Do they have to? Nope. Rockets could not have shot much worse and were still in position to win 2 other games. Your Lakers best lineup confuses me. Kobe, Dfish, Payton, Malone and Shaq. I cannot recall your best lineup even being on the floor at the same time. Normally Payton sits, Dfish is in. Payton and Kobe not meshing as both run the offense their way. I really do not use regular season records anywhere, so I am not forgetting. I tend to throw them out. I thought this was the playoffs, the second season? Only thing regular season does is determine second season seedngs and home field. Last time I checked, Spurs have home court. I am sticking with the same things I have said. The better team, IMO, is the Spurs. They were not favored to win it all, now they are. They were underdogs to open series price. Now they are -1.50 if not higher. Were those squares lined up Thursday morning, hammering openers? Or were the squares betting the Lakers to odds on before the season started. I had the Spurs last year when no one thought they could get by LA. There are a ton of deep pocketed Laker backers out there. They pushed a number to an unrealistic place. I recognized this, and plan on profiting from that. I think your last post tells the whole story, from your point of view, Lakers will play better, or step up. Well, they are going to have to. Series are about individual matchups, and Spurs, with this current roster, matchup very well with the Lakers. The Lakers are the #1 public team in the NBA. They just are not the #1 team in the NBA, that was, is and soon will be again, the Spurs. Best Wishes...OF

Look up the definition of square in your gambling dictionary and you'll see a picture of a Laker bettor.

Fakers are a consitent money burning team and they will not disappoint in their series against the world champions. Spurs offer excellent value in all the games vs the Fakers

Hey Goldfingar, I really like Robert, good guy, great team player. To say that is not a net loss for the Lakers is absurd. He had a miserable series against the Spurs last year, and in this what have you done for me lately world, nobody cares what he did before that. Plus the spurs have the ability to make a lot of players look bad. My best Horry moment was when he was a Rocket. I was screwed, Had Rockets to go all the way for 6-1. They were down 0-2 to Suns, talikng heads stick a fork in them, and the future was going down in flames, unable to hedge. Robert makes the 3, IMO turns a dead loser into a keep on truckin. Cashed that one because of Robert. I think it was their 2nd championship. Hey CrAzY Jivin' IvaN, it is called a caps lock key, right below the tab key. Are you a used car guy that yells on late night TV to wake people up? I am at a loss, why are the Lakers a value, enquiring minds want to know? Best Wishes...OF

Wow, 3-1? Let's see those 3 wins were when, first 6 weeks of season, when Spurs are going through lineup changes, Duncan was out. The only money game was April 4th. Better visit NBA.com and read the recap. I cannot say for sure the sun is coming up tomorrow. When I post it is IMO, in my opinion. I have my money, on that opinion. Feel free to use one post to convey all of your thoughts. I happen to believe it is very difficult to find value on a public team. Easy against. That pretty much stands the test of time. But the series will start Sunday, and that will be that. I grow weary of typing the same stuff over and over. Let the games begin...OF

Dear Redneckman,

I have decided to write you a letter. Been a long time since I have heard from you. Would like to recap some predictions. Shaq will not shoot 30% from charity stripe. Oops, 23%. Payton will step up this series. 38 minutes, 1-8, 3 assists, 2 turnovers. Does that qualify as stepping up? More like washed up. George shooting better, and made his 2 shots. And 1 board starting. Better than Fox, I guess. Lakers lost by 10, getting 13 more points from the charity stripe, and Spurs shot below 30% behind 3. I said they could win without the high 3%. What happens when the Spurs make their 3 pointers, of free throws, or both? Scary. I think the Spurs have one more gear. Lakers keep missing trying to shift. Stuck in neutral. Spurs down by 4 in 4th, crunch time, allow no points, score every possession. Lakers, especially big slow Shaq still cannot stop basic 2 man game, pick and roll, Parker and Tim. Timmy abused them, again. Made some sweets shots down the stretch. All from outside the paint. All different and all high degree of difficulty. A sweet glass, from about 14, 18 foot j and best of all, fading behind the board. Lakers drop their heads, constantly getting beat for loose balls, down the court for fastbreak points. Spurs can run, Spurs can halfcourt. Spurs can win in clutch, scoring, playing D. No help from refs. Lakers fly home, looking for answers or Ponce De Leon. Will find neither. Hope all is well in Redneckland.

Best Wishes,
O.F.

Here is the thread Redneckman. Your predictions not much lousier than mine. Shaq would pick up ft%. Ended up 43%. Nice call. The glove would step up. Again for the series 15-49, a miserable 30% and had 3 games that were just brutal, 1-5, 1-5 and 1-8. That is sure stepping up. George who you thought would be some huge factor went 11-22. 5 games he made 2 or less shots. What an impact. Better than Fox. The Lakers won, but not from anything even close to what you said. You stumbled into a series win, with a lucky game #5, and now you have redeemed yourself to talk shit? I think peckerwoodman fits better. Keep building yourself up, because I am sure no one else will. Best Wishes...OF

You don't think George had a big impact in the series? What series were you watching. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Face it you were wrong. Spurs not even competitive in L.A. in 3 games. Lakers were up 5 with 11 mintutes to play in game one, were within 2 with 5 minutes left in game 2, and won game 5. You were wrong, I just was pointing it out, since you were so damn confident in your analysis before the series. Nice handicapping. Good luck in the rest of the playoffs, at least the Spurs won't cost you any more coin.

If Popovich would have limited Horry's minutes, to say 0 minutes, the Spurs may have won. He was a huge liability offensively, and isn't much of a defender any more either. Sweet revenge, since he cost the Lakers the series against the Spurs last year.

Sorry Peckerwoodman, but I made money. I was wrong on original call, adjusted and made money. Do not get all bitter because you are stuck in the modular, adjusting the rabbit ears on your B and W TV. You have done absolutely nothing, vanished after the first two, and jumped back on your web tv after the series was over. Downright mushy...that's the ticket, Peckerwoodmushman...But I must end our dialogue here for the good of the board...But do not feel forgotten, as I know you will be lurking somewhere, possibly behind a tree, waiting to point out things after the series is over...Actually I feel sorry for you...So best wishes Redneckman, I am going fishing...OF
