bol today Furmanski!
would love to hear at least your thoughts on whether or not the Bulldogs might cover today . . .
I am not playing the game for a lot of reasons.
UGA still isn't completely set at O-line, and the one thing that TN has done well this year is play defense. Throw out all the "revenge game", "UGA wants to redeem themselves for Bama", etc. This is always a battle against TN.
Factors in UGA's favor:
1) Brennan Southerland is back. I really think that this may be the biggest factor in the rest of UGA's season. He is (in my mind) the best fullback in the country, and could open Knowshon up for some big runs.
2) The Vols are going to run the ball as much as possible today, and that plays into UGA's strength on D. They are allowing ~50 yards/game, and I don't think that Stephens can find the open receivers.
3) Another week to allow AJ Green to understand the offense. He's still a true freshman, and that extra week may prove very important to getting him the ball more often in this game.
Factors AGAINST UGA:
1) The Vols and Fulmer always play UGA well. I think that Chavis understands what UGA tries to do, and effectively shuts it down. The Vol D, as stated above, is still there.
2) Arian Foster.....151 yards and 6 TDs in the last 2 games against UGA.
3) Injuries for UGA....Rod Battle only 50% to go in this game, split end Kris Durham out, Danelle Ellerbe is out (preseason All-SEC).
If this line was -7, I would play UGA. I just can't do it at -12.
BOL.
