This probably means Sage Rosenfels will be Brett Favre's primary backup. The Vikings claimed it was because of how the game went, but Jackson barely played in the third exhibition. Minnesota has lost leverage in trade talks by making it abundantly clear that Jackson is on the block, then letting this information leak out. We doubt he'll bring back more than a fifth-round pick.

Jeff Garcia - QB - Raiders Raiders put veteran QB Garcia out of a job
Wow. The Raiders brought Garcia in to push JaMarcus Russell and be a high-quality backup. Now they've given up on that idea. We're pretty sure Garcia wasn't cut because the Raiders were so confident in Russell, so this could say something about Garcia's skills. Or more likely, it says something about the Raiders' brains. They'll go with Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye behind Russell. September 5 -
