Friday:
Hawaii +23
Under 70... Foul weather expected tonight on the Smurf Turf. Boise has been unstopable at home vs. conference opps. Expect more of the same tonight. Chang goes for the NCAA passing record and you know this team can score. Expect a shoot-out, but hopefully a scaled down shoot-out from the number. If the ice hits it will greatly limit the down field stuff. If it is a grind it out type game it would favor the large number and the under w/ Hawaii. Keep in mind that the Boise coach WILL NOT let up. He has shown the last 2 years that if there is time on the clock, he will try to stick it in the end zone. I think BSU wins, but by only 18 points. :toothless
SATURDAY:
Mich St. +11 (Mich)... State has gone 3-0 with their new quarterback. I don't think this is the same team that droped the opener to Rutgers on the road. This is a rivalry game that should elevate the Spartans. I think the Wolverines have more talent on both sides of the ball, but I'll take the large number in a rivalry game.
Minn. -17 (Indiana)... The Golden Gophers have a high octane offense. They run into trouble when the play the likes of Michigan who can use the rope-a-dope on them and allow them to "score themselves out" and come back late to win the game. That won't happen with the Hoosiers. I expect Mason to mail this one in by halftime. Minny can run on ANYONE! Should be lopsided.
OU -12.5 (Ok State)... I know I should probably wait since the betting public is going to be all over the Cowboys tomorrow. Ok State has had the number of Stoops and Co. the last couple of years. Unfortunately for Ok State the blueprint of how to stop them has been laid out. The Sooners have the D to put 8 in the box and shut down the Ok State running game, they are one of the best in the nation vs. the run and will force the Cowboys to put it up. OU has a suspect secondary that has given up some big numbers. This could be a little scewed as they have already played Texas Tech and Bowling Green, two teams that can average 500 yds. per game passing (just ask Neb). Luckily for the Sooners the Cowboys are a terrible passing team and they are going to get behind early tomorrow and will be forced to rely on the air to get back in it. Bad news for them! Too much speed on both sides of the ball for the Sooners. Even on the road, they have the best running back in the nation and should previal in this one. OU 41 Ok State 17. :kicking:
Kansas -4 (Iowa St.)... The Jayhawks should be a rushing stat play. I have ridden them all year, and if it weren't for Stoops "runnin' it up late" they would have covered last week @ Norman. The have a strong offense and should be able to put points on the board vs. the Cyclones. Iowa St. has put up little resistence this year and that should continue tomorrow vs. the Jayhawks.
FSU -11 (MD)... This COULD be a double your 401k game tomorrow (have never lost one; 4-0 lifetime, 1-0 this year). I don't care if Bowden was starting at QB for the Noles. MD will NEVER beat FSU. MD is having a terrible year already loosing at home to Ga Tech, and lost last week to a terrible Clemson team 10-7 . This should/will be another in a long line of laughers. MD will be trying to salvage a bowl game and the Seminoles are still dreaming (albeit a longshot) of the Orange Bowl. Look back the last 15 years and the game is NEVER close. Won't be this year either.
Tenn +1 (South Caro)... Huh:WTF: Fulmer and the boys are getting a point? Sure it's on the road, but this team is fighting for the SEC championship game. This has to be a mistake, even with 2 Frosh QB's, this team has shown good balance and the ability to win close games. I think this is a close one but they will escape with a 3 point W. TN 23 SC 20.
Late leans:
Aub -17.5 Too much Cadillac for the Rebs'
Cal -11.. SunDevils were exposed as a joke vs. USC. The entire conference is over-rated, but Cal is one of the best in conference.
Bowl Green -30... This team scores in BUNCHES! vs. a terrible opponent. Should be another cake walk. Possible 60+ point win.
G/L
