worse call in NFL history probably
How does anyone at the pro football level think that is a good play call? I mean you just can't do that in that spot. End of first half, maybe bit to clinch a Super Bowl when the other coach is letting the clock run. WTF
The 2nd worst call in NFL history happened about 40 seconds before the first worst call in NFL history when the PATs did not call TO with almost 60 seconds left.
If Carrol would not have bailed them out everyone would have been talking about not calling timeout being the worst call in NFL history
The only thing I can think of is that Seattle thought New England would stack the box to stop Lynch. If they threw a slant pass like they did they would have the element of surprise.
I certainly wouldn't do that myself. I'm just trying to understand how a coach could call a play like that in a situation like that.
