Both TCU and Boise St. have about a half dozen players suspended or academically ineligible for this game. I think Boise St. is the superior offensive team while TCU is the superior defensive team. Boise St. doesn't score as much on the road which is what this bowl game is . TCU feels slighted being this big of a dog on home field. My feeling is is that Horned Frogs will hold down Boise St. and keep it close. I like the under 60 as the best play with a small play on TCU. Best of luck.

"boise doesn't score on the road..."
45 @hawaii, 31 @fresno (tuff place to play their only home loss!), 50 @ byu, 45 @ smu, 43 @ la tech -- i'd say they definitely score on the road.

only two starters between the two teams among the suspended.

I still think TCU is some what of a fraud. They do have the knack to have people play down to their level. TCU has had pretty good defenses in the past. The home field will help, but Boise should handle them. Boise will wear them out and break their will. Boise will win by 17+ points.

Hanson Bros,

You are right about them scoring on the road as I have just researched your info so thanks for the reminder. One thing though about these teams is none of them can play defense. TCU at home has allowed 3 points to Navy, 14 to Vanderbilt, 0 to Army, 24 to UAB, 28 to Louisville, and 10 to Cincinnati. The team Boise St. most closely resembles is Louisville. Looking at Boise St. Schedule, there are few teams that play any defense so I would say the closest would be Tulsa or Oregon St. Where they scored 27 and 24 points. Boise St. will score in the mid 20's as TCU will limit them from making this a shootout.

el Diablo,

TCU ,even before they lost to So. Miss, was not getting any respect as no one thought they should be ranked that high in the BCS. I agreed with everyone on this fact. In fact, before I started focusing hard on this game, I really like Boise St. but over the past couple of days, I have started to see some real value in TCU who I believe will not be blown out as they are undefeated at home and with that said, they know the only way to keep it close is to keep the score down which they will with some ball control on offense and limit Dinwiddie touches. Boise St. will probably win but it will be a hard fought grind it out football game.

Kojak,

Read my write up. I want to see you cash this play. I just don't think you are on the right side.

I kinda look at Boise St. like Miami Oh. They both jack up the points. In my mind, TCU avoided Miami and used an excuse to play in the Ft. Worth bowl. They thought the tie in to the bowl would be a 5th or 6th place Big 12 team. They probably sh*t their pants over in CowTown when Boise was mentioned and accepted ... remember it was a condtional bid until everything played out. Boise St. looked good and played and beat a decent Hawaii team at their place. TCU played close games all year and then layed an egg against So. Miss. They then turned around and played their cross-town rival and nearly lost to beat-down SMU. I try to look at the dogs before Jan. 1 and it is already 3-0 for the favs .......but every few years you can throw that strategy out the window. I really think TCU had a chip on their shoulder and wanted to prove they belonged and then got exposed at SM. I think they don't care now and want to finish the season. They have to be tired from studying for the finals they could not delay or miss (lol). Boise is the one looking for respect.....playing in freaking Idaho on a blue turf. They want to be heard and they will. After they win, I look for them to steal some of TCU's girls over at Billy Bob's night club.

FWIW - Boise played one team with a top-75 defense (Oregon St) this year.

TCU's center will be out. The center is an intergral part of the offense and will be costly for the Horned Frogs.

I don't think dogs being due to cover is really a valid argument, more like wishful thinking in this case. I do think Conference USA is overrated, especially TCU. Boise scores over 40 per game on grass, with 500 yds offense. Once TCU falls behind, they're toast.

For all of those naysayers on how big the home field is to TCU are probably kicking themselves now as TCU now up 21-7. Unfortunately though its looking like an over game.

Kojak,

It is 21-14 with 8 minutes left in the second, I wouldn't start cashing in your ticket yet. I thought this game would be close in the first half. Let's see if Boise ties it and then scores 21 unanswered in the 3rd.

Uncle Leo,

You have given me crap on this game for the last 24 hours. How does that crow taste? Need any salt and pepper for that? Just kidding as you have been doing a great job and really the game could have gone either way. Merry xmas and best of luck to you and your family.
