no reason to play for a field goal when you get the ball on the 30 yd line on a fumble.

i agree 100 percent. Absolutely awful play calling and the reason he never beats Miami.

LOL, exactly what they deserve. I got Miami so the FG wouldn't have hurt, I can't believe they got the ball at the 30, and instead of running an offense, they basically just run and center the ball. I'm happy, but FSU bettors have to be Pissed.

But I love how the game is shaping out. FSU isn't interested in the TD and saves my ass!!!

Bowden is afraid of Rix, I would play for the FG also if I had him as my QB.

Truth is I have Miami +2 1/2, I was more than happy to see him do that....now Berlin scares me.

and then they try an option and screen pass the first two plays. They get bailed out by 2 miami penalties.

they sure as hell did --- and that's exactly why I bet UM +1.5 and the UNDER

I've seen enough the last couple years to know that unless FSU has superior talent, they can't overcome the coaching deficit when they face UM
the 'Noles fall short in the mental toughness category when they play these guys ...... if they played 1/2 as loose and confident as they do when they play the gators, we might be looking at a different scenario ---- but FSU "hopes to eek one out against UM" and they NEVER can .....
and YES, it all trickles straight down from the head coach to the assistants

That's the worst Miami team I've seen in a long time.

I was hoping FSU would get one last FG attempt so that kid could miss again. Would have loved to have seen his face.

Have the kickers for FSU the last several years been top recruits? I take it that they were considerd among the top 10 high school kickers in the country when recruited. Have they had good college careers and just sucked against Miami in crunch time? Or have they been mediocre kickers in general?

If I'm a player for FSU, I take some satisfaction from the fact they would have won except for the kicker. In high school, I never really considered the football team a real team. It consisted of 3 teams... offense, defense and special teams. Then there was a division aong starters and non-starters.

Totally different feeling with hockey. You have your forwards, D, special teams, and goalie... but it feels much more like a real team sport.

that's an ignorant statement

YES, they do place a premium on recruiting kickers ... and every other position ---- ever heard of a guy named Janikowski??? Pretty tough to name a better college kicker ANYWHERE, let alone FSU

Xavier Beitia was a highly touted kicker coming out of high school ..... Hell, just last year FSU signed a guy named Chase Goggans who was the #1 ranked high school kicker in the country --- so save the uninformed, mindless "they need to making signing a kicker a priority" bullspit

some of you are way off the mark .... the missed field goals are a SYMPTOM ... not a cause ------ the cause of the problems with Miami is that FSU plays scared and "not to lose" --- content to TRY for field goals rather than score TDs
