THIS IS ALWAYS A HUGE GAME AND THE WINNER CLEARLY LOOKS TO HAVE AN INSIDE TRACK TO THE SUGAR BOWL. PERSONALLY I AM A BIG FSU FAN BUT I FEEL THESE TEAMS SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN "PK". I WILL FIND BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR MY CASH BUT THIS IS GOING TO BE THE ONE GAME I WOULD NEVER MISS. JUST CURIOUS TO SEE HOW EVERYONE FEELS ABOUT THIS MATCHUP. MIAMI WILL NOT GIVE A RAT'S A** THAT THEY HAVE PLAYED BAD THIS YEAR, BUT IT COULD GIVE FSU SOME CONFIDENCE. THAT COULD BE A GOOD OR BAD THING. I DO KNOW THIS: THERE WILL BE MORE FUTURE NFL PLAYERS ON THE FIELD SATURDAY THAN IN ANY OTHER GAME THIS NCAA SEASON. JUST IN CASE EVERYONE HAS BEEN IN A CLOSET OVER THE LAST DECADE OR SO, MIAMI HAS OWNED FSU. THE FAMOUS "WIDE RIGHT" THAT WAS STARTED BY FSU KICKER GERRY THOMAS IN THE EARLY NINETIES HAS BEEN DUPLICATED AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND ANOTHER GAME WINNER LAST YEAR SAILED "WIDE LEFT". FSU DOES HAVE SOME PLAYERS THAT SHOULD BE BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND (LEON WASHINGTON, BOOKER, ETC) WHO COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. IF WASHINGTON PLAYS KEEP AN EYE ON HIM. HE MIGHT BE THE SPARK FSU NEEDS. (RB OR SPECIAL TEAMS). I REALLY THINK FSU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME SLOWING DOWN KELEN WINSLOW. HE IS A STUD AND FSU DOES NOT REALLY HAVE MUCH TO SLOW HIM DOWN. I THINK FSU IS ALSO HANDICAPPED BY OC JEFF BOWDEN. I THINK WE COULD SEE A VERY CONSERVATIVE GAME PLAN AND THESE 2 TEAMS HAVE THE DEFENSES TO REALLY MAKE FOR A LOT OF SHORT DRIVES FOLLOWED BY PUNTS FOR FIELD POSITION. I PERSONALLY THINK IT WILL COME DOWN TO A FIELD GOAL AND I SEE A LOW SCORING FSU VICTORY. 20-17.

Florida St may run table if they win here; but Miami has some tough games left. On this game I'll buy up to seven cause this line can't go any higher. I was hoping for pick and then take Fla ST. ask yourself what line would be if Miami wins thursday by 20. This inflated line for some reason, maybe trap?

considering that Miami lost Gore and Sikes for this game, even if they had beat WVU by more I would have expected the line to come out around FSU -4.5

FSU's had last week off and, from all accounts, is as healthy as they've been all year --- getting Booker and Washington back is HUGE

I also fully expect FSU's depth on the D-line to be too much for miami's banged up (and less-than-talented) OL

Is Sikes out? That has not been confirmed unless you know something I haven't seen.

I agree with your assessment of TX&OU futue NFL'ers, however how many starters on the FSU D and Miami D, total, won't be in the NFL. Try to come up with more than 6, and tell me who they are.
Also, if you have a subscription to ESPN's insider, check out Kiper's article that as nmany as 7 Hurricanes could be first rounders this year. I value his opinion highly, as do NFL GM's. Granted, you have to take Gore off that list now and Vilma and Casey appear to be slipping, but still.

Miami is so overrated this year it is ridiculous and it finally showed last Thursday night squeaking by West Virginia with a last second FG. We are starting to also see how pathetic the Florida Gators are and they were blowing out the Canes earlier this year! Not to mention a TERRIBLE East Carolina squad dealing the Canes FITS for the first 3 quarters of that ballgame! Brock Berlin's overrated ass will fold like a cheap tent under pressure against the Noles' "D" in this "Big Game." Chris Rix isn't the greatest QB, but he has plenty of Big Game experience and will connect off of play action after RB Greg Jones gets OFF! Noles with Double Revenge here in BLOWOUT fashion as they want this one a LOT more than Miami. Blowout City:

13 Miami
34 FSU

micmanus-

i went to college a few miles south of montgomery at troy state and lived in birmingham for a while after that.....i would like for fsu to really roll but history tells us different...to be honest the play is Miami or Under or Pass.....i choose the last one.....best of luck in whatever you decide.

looks like leon washinghton will not be available for special teams...this hurts fsu a little as his return was expected....he could play a little rb though.....makes the lean toward under a little better in my opinion....still no play but who knows....may pull the trigger if the line dances my way enough before kickoff.

WE ARE ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY FROM WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST RIVALRY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL OVER THE LAST DECADE.....I ADMIT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE HISTORY OF OTHERS BUT NAME ONE OTHER RIVALRY GAME THAT HAS MEANT MORE IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE THE LAST 10 YEARS.....IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO TUNE IN BEFORE KICKOFF WATCH THE TWO TEAMS LINE UP AT MIDFIELD AND REALLY BRING THIS GAME TO IT'S BIGGEST INTENSITY LEVEL EVER.....IT IS ALWAYS CLASSIC.....SOME MAY SAY THAT THE FLORIDA VS FSU GAME IS A BIGGER RIVALRY BUT TO ME IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE....ONCE ALL THE HOOPLA HAS ENDED AND THE GAME KICKS I EXCPECT THE EXCITEMENT TO DIE DOWN A LITTLE (EXCEPT FOR MAYBE A FEW BIG HITS EARLY)....THESE DEFENSES WILL SETTLE DOWN AND PROBABLY SET THE TONE....BOTH WILL PROBABLY HAVE TROUBLE PUNCHING IT IN WHEN INSIDE THE RED ZONE....THIS TRANSLATES TO QUITE A FEW FG ATTEMPTS....I COULD SEE A FEW LONG TD'S BUT NOT VERY MANY...ALSO I EXPECT BOTH TEAMS TO BE CAUTIOUS ON SPECIAL TEAMS WITH SOME FAIR CATCHES AND REALLY ATTEMPT TO PLAY FOR FIELD POSITION....IF YOU MUST HAVE A PLAY ON THIS GAME THEN I SUGGEST "UNDER"....OTHERWISE WATCH AND ENJOY A GREAT GAME!!!
