According to witnesses, a black gloved hand holding a gun reached out from within a Honda Civic, and shot him point blank, Colombian Style....

Catholic Priest, Minor de Jesus Calvo, and a businessman were BOTH ARRESTED this morning as suspects for the murder of Parmenio Medina.*
I think this is a very positive sign that things are improving down here. The judicial authorities are making great strides at bringing criminals to justice, and that is very good.

Medina also reported cases of corruption involving the Radio Catholic Station, Radio Maria, and apparently had a lot more info on the catholic priest.

The video, obtained by ABCNEWS, shows grainy images of three Iraqis on the ground handling a long cylindrical object that the helicopter pilots believe is a weapon.
The pilots, from the Army's 4th Infantry Division, ask their commanders for permission to engage, then take the three men out one by one, using the Apache's devastating 30 mm cannons.

They do have sensorship laws in CR that prevent people from seeing movies like "Chainsaw Massacre" and "House of 1000 Corpses". But then they allow photos like that on the front page of newspapers. Maybe if the violence is "Made in Costa Rica", then it's allowable.
