Did anyone else lose betting on the Friends finale? I lost 500 bucks. I just knew that it would get a 30 rating. Too bad the preliminaries came back 29. Oh well, anybody else get bit on this too?

A 30 share would have been awesome. From Variety:

Friends dominated the ratings Thursday night pulling a 21.5 rating for the clip show at 8pm Eastern and a 29.2 rating for the series finale at 9pm Eastern

An estimated 51.1 million Americans tuned in to watch the final episode of Friends on NBC Thursday night, according to news reports, citing preliminary ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

The tally, which was in line with most expectations, made the program the top-rated show on NBC since the Seinfeld finale in 1998, Bloomberg News reported. NBC set a record with ad prices for the show, charging an average of $20 million for each 30-second spot.

Seinfeld drew about 76.2 million viewers for its swan song. The last episode of Cheers, in 1993, was watched by 80.4 million. And M*A*S*H's finale drew 105 million viewers.

Most over-rated show in TV history? I vote yes.

Wil, what article did you copy/paste from? NBC got $2 million per 30 seconds...not $20 million.

No. I not only hate the show, I hate every actor and actress on it. All six of them need to be detained in the Abu Ghraib prison. And I don't like that pretty boy Brad Pitt either!

My God, how did this show stay on for ten years led alone stay on top for ten???

I have been saying for years that Friends is a racist show. Where are the black friends? Why is the only foreigner on the show (Norwegian guy in coffee shop) portrayed as a blundering idiot.
