hmmm I don't know, by cmparison Seingfeld's final episode got a 45 rating, of course Friends isn't Seinfeld, but it is pretty popular. I wonder what Friedn's ratings are compared to what Seinfeld used to get. here's some others:
1. Feb. 28, 1983: ''M A S H,'' 60 rating, 77 share.
2. Aug. 29, 1967: ''The Fugitive,'' 46 rating, 72 share. 3. May 20, 1993: ''Cheers,'' 46 rating, 64 share.
4. May 1, 1988: ''Magnum, P.I.,'' 32 rating, 48 share.
5. April 30, 1992: ''The Cosby Show,'' 28 rating, 45 share.
6. April 8, 1979: ''All in the Family,'' 27 rating, 43 share.
7. March 19, 1977: ''Mary Tyler Moore Show,'' 26 rating, 45 share.
8. May 3, 1991: ''Dallas,'' 22 rating, 38 share.
9. March 31, 1975: ''Gunsmoke,'' 20 rating, 31 share.
10. May 21, 1990: ''Newhart,'' 19 rating, 29 share.
If you asked me if the finale for Friends would be watched by 30 percent of people watching tv that night I'd probably say no, but it should be close? On the other hand it has been getting a lot of publicity on the television tabloid shows, and if you give a shit, they're hanging a cliff-hanger out there on weather or not Ross is gonna bang Rachel or not. Maybe that's worth a couple extra rating points.
