So I received a friend request from poster here at THERX, but I am unsure what that means. Does something happen if I accept to be friend?

If you click on your own name, you are taken to your user CP which has a feed of posts by your friends. That's really the only difference that exists I think, as you can PM anyone if you and their PM's are turned on.

I suppose there may be a setting to restrict PM's to friends only or something.

I also never knew what a friend request was/meant. I would just say yes and delete
