The more I think about this, the more I believe Bill is onto something here.
Going with the old "Bubble Burst Theory," Temple had their undefeated season go down the drain in what was an exciting and emotional game on national TV vs. the Irish. Now how do they get up for one of the worst teams in the nation ON THE ROAD, especially with a date vs. a much tougher South Florida team on deck? SMU has no defense at all, but their offense is strong. They should score more than enough points to keep this game close and within the number vs. a Temple team that is in a bad spot.
The fact is the betting public at large will overlook SMU and think it will be an absolute cakewalk for Temple. I don't see it.
At the minimum, I think the 1st 1/2 bet of SMU +7 makes 100% sense.

Another KEY is that Temple RB Thomas is ??? with ribs... they will want to be careful with him, and if he does play he might not give that 1000% effort that he gave vs ND. Temple also lost their C, and sometimes that really really hurts a team.
To boot, though 1-7, SMU has played a far more difficult schedule.

Temple has six starters who might not play tonight. Center is out, running back has broken rib. In addition, they have had a lousy week of practice. Coach has already said the players were just going through the motions at practice. First time all year the players did that. Temple has a solid team and they are not the kind of team who can just show up and go through the motions and win. They need to play emotional and that emotion has been missing all week.
