(711) Sacramento Kings at (712) Memphis Grizzlies

Two Western clubs that are in the top half of the conference standings are on the Mississippi Friday night when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Sacramento Kings. The Griz enter tonight's contest having won three of their last four and done so versus some of the most talented rosters in the league. Across the last five contests the Griz own a 3-2 mark with victories against Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Denver. The Memphis loses were to Utah and Golden State. The aforementioned squads all have winning records on the young season.

The Grizzlies went into the Bucks backyard and handed them their first home setback of the season. J.B. Bickerstaff has done just about everything right this season, including the way he handled his veterans during the preseason schedule.

Sacramento comes off a Monday 104-99 home win over the San Antonio Spurs. It was the Kings seventh victory in their last 10 games. The Kings are set up to succeed and/or fail on the play of their backcourt, especially second year guard De'Aaron Fox and Buddy H.

Shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is playing his way back into shape after missing reps to a knee injury. And while the Kings have been successful recently the addition to Bogdan flexes the rotations to degree that is new. Bogdanovic will need time to get his positive mojo coming off the injury and will need time to fit into his roles in the rotations he is active in. \

Sacramento coach Dave Joerger told the media he was ease the shooting guard back into what is expected to be a major role. Recent Kings success has also comes via center Willie Cauley-Stein who has averaged a near dub-dub across his last four games (18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds)

The Kings have an 8-6 mark on the season but that .500 plus winning percentage figures to begin moving south with a quickness. Sac's victories this season have come against the lesser franchises in the league. Of the Kings eight victories only one has come against a club with a winning percentage above .600. When Sacramento squares off against teams with clubs that have more wins than losses they are 0-5 on the season with an 19-plus point average margin of defeat.

Veteran center Marc Gasol has fresh legs in the early portion of the regular season. He comes off a season-high 29 points that combined with defensive minded guard Mike Conley's 26 in the win over the Bucks.

The Kings are neither as deep or as versatile, especially in the frontcourt, as the Griz. And Sacramento is far too guard dependent in terms of scoring. Fox and Buddy Hield will struggle playing on the Mississippi Friday night against a healthy and firing on all cylinders Memphis squad.
