Friday's Selection ...
For Friday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Toronto Blue Jays with Estrada and the New York Yankees with Tanaka to hold UNDER the total. At 8:15 am eastern time, the total for this game is 9 runs in Vegas and offshore. Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or there is no action on this release.
Marco Estrada may no longer be the pitcher he once was, but he did turn back the clock in his last start when he went out and worked 6 innings of 2 run ball against the Indians. That bodes well as he faces a New York attack that was being no-hit late into the game by Jake Odorizzi on Wednesday night in Minnesota in a 3-1 final.
The Yankees are scuffling right now, as they simply cannot find consistent offense. 4 of their last 6 games have played UNDER the total, and they are facing a Blue Jays team that enters Friday play on a 4-1-1 UNDER clip their last 6 games.
Toronto will have to contend with Masahiro Tanaka who has been the New York "ace" over the last 2 months, and did just work 8 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts at Seattle in his last start. Tanaka owns a 2.35 ERA for his last 10 trips to the slab, and he is 10-4 with a 2.86 ERA in 16 career starts versus the Jays. It should also be pointed out, the UNDER stands at 11-3-1 the last 15 times Tanaka has worked against Toronto.
I don't see more than 7 runs combined tonight in the Bronx.
Toronto-New York UNDER.
