WEDNESDAY 1-1 -2.63 UNITS
Big card tonight, I hope that it cashes in for all!!! Let me know what you think about my selections:
10 Units Indiana Pacers -2 -103
Defensively there's a huge difference between these teams. Indiana under coach Rick Carlisle is holding teams to 41% shooting and 82 points per game! Seattle likes to run, and is allowing 93.9 ppg. This is the fourth straight road game for the Pacers and they are 1-2 SU/ATS on the long trip. On the other hand, they are still a strong 8-2 SU/7-3 ATS on the road!!! The defense is allowing just 86 ppg away from home. Seattle is just 5-4 SU/4-5 ATS at home and has a nice frontcourt of two 6'-10" players in Rashard Lewis and Vladimir Radmanovic. The Pacers have height up front, however, and better guard play and defense. The visitors match up well and may steal another road win in Seattle. The last three meetings, Indiana is 3-0 SU/ATS against the Sonics, including a 114-111 OT win in Seattle as a dog!!!
7 Units Utah Jazz -7 -108
A couple of young, rebuilding teams meet here, but they've had very different seasons. Los Angeles has two young players leading the way in Corey Maggette and rookie Chris Kaman, but like many young teams they can't play on the road. The Clippers are 2-4 SU/ATS away from home where they surrender 101 points pg!!! LA allows teams to shoot 45% from the field, which is exactly what Utah is shooting, so the home team should score plenty. Utah is a stellar 9-1 SU and 8-2 against the spread at home! Coach of the Year (to be) Jerry Sloan has these kids playing good 'D', and while they haven't been able to win much away from the Salt Palace yet, they will in time. The Jazz have all the edges here and the last time they met on this court, Utah rolled 88-73 and covered!!!
5 Units Milwaukee Bucks +8 -105
The Bucks have won four of six while holding opponents to 91 ppg while scoring 94 ppg. Has defense become a factor??? Led by Michael Redd, who scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half, the Bucks scored a 106-94 victory over the Hawks on Tuesday. The Bucks were playing the second end of a back-to-back without two of their better offensive players in Tim Thomas (ankle) and Toni Kukoc (back). Milwaukee shot 51 percent (42-of-83) and went 15-of-21 from the free-throw line. The Nets (H: 2-6 SU, 1-7 ATS) ran into a wall last week when they lost Alonzo Mourning to kidney disease and have lost three straight on the road while averaging 89 ppg and giving up 98 ppg. The road trip could have been a factor since the competition was the Kings, Jazz and Warriors, but the Jazz loss was a big surprise. The Nets committed turnovers on five of their last six possessions, squandering a late lead and continuing to struggle at home with a 96-93 loss Wednesday to the shorthanded Memphis Grizzlies. Nets are in trouble, Bucks playing well. Expect a close game in the Meadowlands!!!
