Well with my lucky lately - it would be a miracle if I show a profit with these picks...

Los Angeles Kings -0.5 (+121)
Marc-Andre Fleury will start for the Pittsburgh Penguins in their season opener at the age of 18 yrs old...Damn the kid is only 1 years younger then myself - I wonder if he can 'handle' the pressure playing the Penguins' first game as a 'highly-touted #1 overall draft pick' against the LA Kings, who happened to lose a heart-breaker in MoTown last night. All the Kings have to do is contain the Mario Lemieux-Martin Straka line & powerplay because other then that - there's really no other players that are known to be 'goal-scorers'. Is Fleury the 'real deal'? - I say prove it! The LA Kings are 7-2-1 in their last 10 meetings vs the Pits Penguins and are 4-0-1 since 2000.

New York Rangers ML +103 *Best Bet x2*
The Wild do not have any 'scoring capabilities' after losing Gaborik and Ronning. Can the Wild play defense vs a high potent offense in the NYR? This seems like a 'trap' game - but I will rather play the Rangers and their skillful veteran lineup in a game in which Glen Sather will make sure the boys are prepared to show what they got... As coach and GM, Sather will have to "deliver" or he will have to leave NYC with his tail between his legs and his reputation in tatters. How can you not like the offense of: Alexei Kovalev, Anson Carter, Eric Lindros, Petr Nedved, Brian Leetch, Tom Poti, Bobby Holik and Mark Messier (even if he is 2,000 years old)?
Rangers are also interestingly 5-0 vs the Min Wild...Rangers at PLUS MONEY are the best bet in my opinion this week!

Tampa Bay Lightning -0.5 (+110)
I'll take Khabibulin over Potvin any day!

St. Louis Blues -0.5 (+110)
The Blues are just 'much better' then the Coyotes here (on paper that is)...
The Blues top potent offensive players are led by Doug Weight, Chris Pronger, Pavol Demitra, Keith Tkachuk, Al MacInnis and Barrett Jackman...along with highly 'touted' youngsters Sejna (the Hobey Baker Award winner last season at Colorado College), Cajenek (who should be healthy this season) and Varlamov (who had 23 goals in the minors last season). Osgood vs Burke (the game will definitely come down to goaltending...
