USF last night was just TOO easy but if you read my writeup/novel yesterday, you'd understand why. My experiences close to the UNC program with Dick Crum/Mack Brown (80s/90's) and later at ECU learning under the offensive GENIUS Steve Logan affects some of my views and analysis. Tonight's matchup is more about the trenches and key players making key plays at the right time. Ga Tech averages just over 31 points a game and they shouldnt have any issues eclipsing that number against UCF's porous Defense. Led by QB Haynes King and the Rushing attack with Jamal Haynes, they should move the ball with ease tonight. GA Tech, while having an up and down season and 2 bad losses, also pushed top ranked UGA to the brink at the end of the season as the offense started to Gel. Both teams stand at 6-6, but GA Tech as been far better covering ATS on the road and neutral fields this year (4-2), while UCF is 2-4 on the road, and 3-5-1 last 9. I am not saying GA Tech comes out and wins, as I have this to be about a Field goal game (my line +2.5 vs books 5.5-6) so I'm taking the +6 with a smile and hoping for the best.

GA Tech+6

Good luck.

I think UCF has better skill position players/better offense and Georgia Tech has trouble keepig up.

Yes, Probably true and as someone txt me yesterday i was a fool for taking USF over Cuse bc in their view Cuse had better player due to being in ACC vs AAC. Yes, they get better recruits, but it's about Development. Even with that there are thousands of examples where better players didn't win/cover against a lesser opponent. Like I always talk about, my little old ECU Pirates smacked down THE U (Miami) which had 30 future NFL players AT the ORANGE Bowl in 1996 giving them their worst home loss in history to that point, and later during my days in 1999, we beat a NFL Hall of fame-laden Miami Hurricanes with Ed Reed, Santa Moss, Lavernius Coles, Willis McGahee, about 30 other stars/NFL talent while we had 3-4 that would go to the league (Vonta Leach who played LB then, David Garrard at QB). It's not about the best players so much, as many other factors come to play. I also am not taking GT on moneyline but think the points are my edge here, and hope for the best as I said above. Good luck however you decide to play.

I loved those ECU teams back then....Garrard made me some serious money for a few years!

Just a side note correction though.....Laveranues Coles played for my Seminoles in the late '90s - one of my favorite Nole wideouts ever!

yeah David was my suite-mate and teammate and still a friend, now owns some Gyms down in florida (Retro Fitness). We called him "Beer Truck" in college as he was 6'5, 245 and could knock most linemen on their asses. Huge cannon of an arm. Funny thing is we played VA Tech in 2000 with Mike Vick, who was in the Top 10 then. All the VT players including Vick came over to get DG's autograph (Vick was initially going to come to ECU but Coach Logan already had DG lined up since 7th grade camp and told Vick he'd have to alternate or sit behind him).

Right about Coles, It was Moss and another fast kid at WR The Canes had then, they were loaded with them. Draw more blanks on names as age creeps in. LOL

I looked it up and found it, Reggie Wayne (Long time Colts WR)....even better of a pro WR...they were loaded that year but we beat them in the "Hurricane game" a few days after Hurricane Floyd devastated ECU and all of Eastern NC...

Yeah man....Reggie Wayne was almost an after-thought on the Canes back then. You're right - a much bigger pro player.... But let's not forget the Noles' WRs back then: Besides Coles, we had Peter Warrick, Anquan Boldin, and Marvin Minnis to name a few.....Some serious talent on both those teams back then....Good times!

yeah they were loaded, used to follow Free Shoes Univ (HA) as a UNC fan in chapel thrill then went to ECU so luckily we didnt play them just Miami, Syracuse, WVU, South Carolina, TCU and a few others.

Pretty cool video/story of that 99 team i was on sidelines for, we won the Disney spirit award for that game and year overcoming adversity after a terrible Hurricane, had to practice at South Carolina for a week after we demolished them at Williams Brice in SC, then play the Miami game at our rival NC state (was supposed to be at ECU but campus, field, all of eastern NC was destroyed). Had to overcome a big deficit but Garrard and my buddy Keith stokes all of 5 foot 6 led the charge....my roommate at the time was pictured on Sports Illustrated and ESPN shots as he tore down NC States goal post and jumped on the top. Fans were crying, esp those that lost everything from the storm...it was 3 hours of pure joy for them..

Later that year, we beat NC State on our field and tore them down again, just throwing salt in the wound :)

Freaking Awesome....Great story!!
Yes it was and pretty cool to live it, although Hurricane Floyd and 3 major hurricanes/floods we endured sure SUCKED.

This Georgia tech game is going to be a great story as well. Tough kids, down 14-0 had people texting me some talking smack about UCF. I simply said, you guys never played football, huh? Great game so far...this is a game of MOMENTUM and once GT got it, they didn't give it back. Now, close this bad boy out!

Hope some of you have enjoyed my analysis the last 2 nights, may not have much analysis/time for the games tomorrow but we'll see. I knew once GT got momentum, it'd be tough for UCF and it sure was.
