Twins starter Kevin Slowey has been a real force through his minor league career. He has been compared to the likes of Greg maddux. A guy who doesnt have overpowering stuff but has great command and really knows how to pitch and get people out. While I wouldnt quite anoint him with that status just yet, his numbers in the minors have not disproved that notion. Already this year he's compiled 3 CG with a 1.5 ERA and a .86 WHIP. Luckily for him he gets to take his first shot against a average offense. One he should have the upper hand because of the A's holes on the bottom of the lineup and the fact that they have never faced him before. Joe Kennedy got off to a great start but has since cooled down. Hits and wlaks are up lately and strikeouts have been hard toc ome by for him for the most of the year. As a result teams are starting to get a read on him and because he hasnt been precise lately he has been getting lit.
The Twins are a hot club right now. the Pirahnas are getting on base, Justin Morneau and Cuddyer have really stepped it up and Torii Hunter is keeping to the consistent beast status he's carried all year. Im going to back the hot club with unknown young stud. Twins for 3 units.
