Take Boston Red Sox (-125) over Baltimore (1:30 p.m., Friday, July 4)

No baseball handicapper in the country is hotter than I am right now, going 25-11 with my last 36 plays for over $4,000 in profit. I have racked up five straight winning baseball seasons, so this shouldn’t be a surprise. And it shouldn’t be a surprise when Jon Lester gets the better of the Baltimore Orioles on Friday in this afternoon affair. Lester is 15-4 with just a 2.92 ERA in his career against the Orioles. He is 7-2 with an ERA below 2.90 in his career against the O’s when playing in Fenway Park. Lester has been scorching. He has won six of seven games and has four straight quality starts. That includes his last outing against the Yankees when he went eight innings and gave up just one run. The Red Sox are down in the A.L. East standings. They know the have some ground to make up. So they will have extra focus for this weekend series. I think they will start it off right with another big win behind Lester.

Take Washington over Chicago Cubs (11 a.m., Friday, July 4)

I have a bunch of big plays going this weekend, including my MLB Game of the Week on Saturday, but I want to get the holiday weekend started with an early morning winner. The Nationals are getting healthy, and they are starting to hit the ball. Chicago has also been playing some good baseball lately, but the Cubs have always struggled in Washington. Tanner Roark is scheduled to start for the Nationals in this game, and he has won back-to-back home games. If he can keep the Cubs batters off balance I see another Washington home victory. Jason Hammel takes the mound for Chicago, and lately he has one good outing then one bad outing, and his last start was a good one, so you do the math. Washington hits Hammel early and get to the Cubs bullpen early, and I think the Nationals take Game 1 of this weekend series.

Take #959 Miami (+120) over St. Louis (7 p.m., Friday, July 4)

Happy 4th of July to everyone! I am having a profitable baseball season and want to keep it going through this festive weekend. So let’s make this holiday a little better with a nice underdog winner here on the diamond. Hotshot rookie Andrew Heaney gets the nod here in this one. This is Heaney’s fourth start of his career, and though he comes in with an ERA above 5.00, I like a lot of what I’ve seen thus far from this prized prospect and first-round draft pick. Heaney has a WHIP of just 1.12 thus far, with each of the first three starts allowing two walks or less. He faced a very good Oakland squad from the much tougher American League in his last game, and things will be a lot easier in this one facing a much less potent St. Louis offense.
Speaking of the Cardinals, they haven’t really kicked into high gear so far this season, and a lot of that has had to do with below average production they’ve got from their offense. This is a team that ranks just 18th in team batting average on the season and have hit the 2nd fewest amount of home runs in baseball. Lance Lynn gets the call for them here and comes in off an ugly outing last time out. There are some worries about Lynn right now as he received some treatment for a blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand earlier this week. This is never a good sign when it comes from a pitcher and especially one who got hit so hard his last time out. Lynn even spoke after his bad game that this had a major effect on him as this makes the Cardinals a vulnerable favorite here in this one. Take Miami in this game.

KEY STAT: Germany have lost just one of their last 25 matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Algeria's dynamic display against Germany may have taken a great deal out of Joachim Low's team, but they should still have enough to beat France. The Germans are the masters at getting the job done without playing well and there was little from Les Bleus display against Nigeria to suggest they can cope against superior opposition.

KEY STAT: Colombia are unbeaten in their last 11 matches

EXPERT VERDICT: The host nation breathed a huge sigh of relief after Brazil’s penalty shootout success over Chile but their joy could be short-lived. Luis Gustavo’s suspension will disrupt the Brazilian midfield which functioned so much better against Chile, and quarter-final opponents Colombia are playing well enough to take advantage.

[h=2]2014 FIFA WORLD CUP QUARTER-FINAL[/h]
  • Venue: Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro
  • Date: Friday, 4 July
  • Kick-off:17:00 BST

[h=2]TEAM NEWS[/h]Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with a thigh injury.
Coach Joachim Low has said that seven members of his squad are suffering from flu symptoms but they should all be available for selection.
France coach Didier Deschamps may select Antoine Griezmann in place of Olivier Giroud, meaning Karim Benzema would play as a central striker.
Defender Mamadou Sakho has recovered from injury.
[h=2]MATCH PREVIEW[/h]Germany coach Joachim Low says that "France versus Germany has always been a classic", and in their three previous meetings at the World Cup they have not disappointed.
Seventeen goals have been scored at an average of 5.7 per match. Their 1982 semi-final in Seville was described by France great Michel Platini as "my most beautiful game" but it threw up one of the most controversial moments in the tournament's history thanks to the horrific challenge by Germany goalkeeper Harald Schumacher on Patrick Battiston.
The Frenchman left the field on oxygen with three cracked ribs, two missing teeth and a damaged vertebrae. To add insult to injury, Schumacher went on to save two penalties in the shoot-out after a stunning match had finished 3-3 after extra time

Germany's current goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made headlines for all the right reasons against Algeria with a stunning demonstration of how to play as a 'goal-sweeper'.
Acting as an auxiliary defender at times because of Germany's defence playing a high line, he put in a passable impression of the great Franz Beckenbauer, with an incredible 21 touches outside his area to snuff out any danger.
Since pummelling Portugal in their opening match in Brazil, Germany's form has steadily tailed off and they were hugely disappointing against the Algerians.
A lengthening injury list and an outbreak of flu in the camp hardly helped their display and the German media were far from complimentary.
It has been a different story for neighbours France. After such a traumatic tournament in 2010, coach Didier Deschamps - who is still yet to suffer defeat at a World Cup as a player or coach - has a unified squad pulling together in the right direction.
A youthful presence in his side has helped add vitality, and World Cup rookies Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann proved to be the difference against Nigeria.
"There is a form of insouciance with the younger players," Deschamps said. "They're full of life, that's what you expect from a younger player".
[h=2]MATCH FACTS[/h][h=3]Head-to-head[/h]
  • This is the 26th meeting between the sides. France have won 11 times, Germany eight and there have been six draws.
  • They have met three times before at the World Cup. France won the first encounter 6-3 in the third-place play-off in 1958. The two sides drew 3-3 at the semi-final stage in 1982 before West Germany prevailed 5-4 on penalties. Four years later, West Germany won another semi-final 2-0.
[h=3]France[/h]
  • On the last five occasions that France have progressed past the first round at the World Cup, they have gone on to reach the semi-final stage (1958, 1982, 1986, 1998 and 2006).
  • Les Bleus are now on 10 goals at this World Cup, equalling their tally from the previous three World Cup campaigns combined (2002, 2006 and 2010).
  • All 10 of France's goals during this World Cup have come from inside the penalty area.
  • They have lost only one of the 10 games they have ever played in Brazil (W6, D3).
  • France have hit the woodwork six times at this World Cup, more often than any other team.
  • They have not conceded a first-half goal in any of their last 12 games.
  • Mathieu Valbuena completed 94% of his passes in the last round against Nigeria.
  • Karim Benzema has had an unrivalled 13 shots on target at this World Cup ahead of the quarter-finals.
[h=3]Germany[/h]
  • Germany are contesting a quarter-final for the ninth straight World Cup.
  • They have reached the semi-finals at the last three World Cups. No nation has ever made the last four in four successive tournaments.
  • Germany are unbeaten in their last 15 internationals (W10, D5), the best run of any side still involved at the World Cup.
  • They had 16 shots on goal against Algeria, as many as they had in their three group matches combined.
  • Manuel Neuer celebrates winning a half century of caps in this game and has lost just three times in his previous 49 appearances.
  • Toni Kroos (473) has had more touches than any other player at this World Cup so far. Team-mate Philipp Lahm (437) is the only other player to have more than 400.
  • Thomas Muller has been directly involved in seven of Germany's last 12 goals at the World Cup (five goals, two assists).
  • Germany had a record seven Bayern Munich players in their starting line-up against Algeria. Players from Bayern have contributed 14 goals at this World Cup - more than any other club side - Thomas Mueller (Germany) four, Arjen Robben (Netherlands) and Xherdan Shaqiri (Switzerland) three, Mario Mandzukic (Croatia) two, Mario Goetze (Germany) and Julian Green (United States) one.

[h=2]2014 FIFA WORLD CUP QUARTER-FINAL[/h]
  • Venue: Estadio Castelao, Fortaleza
  • Date: Friday, 4 July
  • Kick-off: 21:00 BST

[h=2]TEAM NEWS[/h]Brazil star Neymar will be fit despite suffering blows to his thigh and knee against Chile.
Paulinho may replace banned midfielder Luis Gustavo, although coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is also considering switching to a 3-5-2 formation.
Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has reported no injury concerns.
Pekerman boldly fielded two strikers in the last 16 against Uruguay and must decide whether to drop Jackson Martinez in order to field an extra midfielder.
[h=2]MATCH PREVIEW[/h]Colombia star James Rodriguez has stressed there is "no pressure" on Los Cafeteros as they prepare for the first World Cup quarter-final in their history.
But for opponents Brazil, the host nation and tournament favourites, the weight of expectation is proving a heavy burden.
Several players burst into tears after their last-16 victory against Chile, including goalkeeper Julio Cesar, who sobbed openly during post-match interviews, and the team's emotional state has proved a hot topic in the build-up to this game.
Carlos Alberto, Brazil's World Cup captain in 1970, believes the Selecao should save their tears until after they have lifted the trophy at the Maracana on 13 July.
"The team is crying when they're singing the anthem, when they get hurt, when they shoot penalties! Come on... Stop crying! Enough!" he said.
Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari asked sport psychologist Regina Brandao to speak to the squad on Tuesday to help them deal with the pressure.
Top scorer Neymar says the sessions have been beneficial but maintains that "nobody has an emotional problem - everything is OK".
The hosts will need to be fully focussed against a Colombia side who have reached the last eight with a style and swagger largely missing from Brazil's play.
Colombia coach Jose Pekerman admits the Brazilians have yet to hit top form.

"Sometimes a team with a lot of potential, if they don't find the result and they need to win, they can't play so brilliantly," he said.
"So the competition becomes interesting because a team with less individual stars can disturb the balance of the other team."
The quarter-finals may be unchartered territory for Colombia's players, but not for Pekerman, who led his native Argentina to the last eight of 2006 World Cup in Germany.
On that occasion they also faced the hosts, but bowed out after losing on penalties.
Pekerman was later criticised for his uncharacteristically cautious decision to substitute playmaker Juan Riquelme whilst Argentina led 1-0.
[h=2]MATCH FACTS[/h]Head-to-head

  • Colombia have won just two of their 25 previous games against Brazil and have never defeated them on Brazilian soil.
  • Their last victory against the Selecao was a 2-0 win in the group stage of the Copa America in 1991 (staged in Chile).
  • It is 11 years since Brazil last beat Colombia. The four most recent meetings all ended in draws. Three of those games finished 0-0.
  • The most recent encounter was a 1-1 draw in New York in November 2012. Juan Cuadrado put Colombia ahead before Neymar equalised, but the Brazilian star also hit a penalty over the bar.
Brazil

  • They have reached the quarter-finals for the sixth consecutive time. They have lost at this stage in the last two tournaments, with defeat by the Dutch in 2010 their last competitive loss.
  • Their only defeat in the last 25 games came against Switzerland last August (W18, D6, L1).
  • Brazil are unbeaten in 41 successive home matches, with their last defeat coming against Paraguay in August 2002.
  • Their last competitive defeat at home was 3-1 to Peru in the 1975 Copa America semi-final.
Colombia

  • Los Cafeteros are unbeaten in their last 11 games (W7, D4) since losing 2-0 in Uruguay last September.
  • If they avoid defeat in Fortaleza it will be their longest unbeaten run since a 27-game streak between 1992 and 1994.
  • They have won more World Cup matches in Brazil (four) than in their previous 13 tournament games combined.
  • James Rodriguez has scored in each of his last six appearances for Colombia.
  • He has scored five World Cup goals and assisted two more in 310 minutes on the pitch - which equates to scoring or assisting a goal every 44 minutes.
  • Ten of Colombia's last 13 World Cup goals have been scored in the second half of matches.
  • Coach Jose Pekerman is unbeaten in nine World Cup matches (W7, D2). However, one of Pekerman's two draws was followed by a penalty shootout defeat by Germany in 2006 in his final match in charge of Argentina.

This is the tie of the round. Going back through the years, there is not a great deal of love lost between these two teams when they meet, starting with that challenge by Toni Schumacher on Patrick Battiston at the 1982 World Cup.
I expect this encounter to be very competitive as well, because they are both well matched.
Although some of Germany's games at this tournament have been close, they have been the better team in every game they have played.
People question their defence, saying they play a high line, but whoever plays in France's front three, I don't think they will be able to get behind them.
It will be close, but I fancy Germany to edge though, again.

I have seen Colombia three times now at this World Cup and been very impressed on each occasion .
Brazil, with the exception of Neymar, have been distinctly average but I look at them and think surely they must have a good performance in them.

The pressure is off them a little bit because they so nearly went out against Chile, and that should have given a lot of their fans with high expectations a bit of a reality check.
I look at Colombia and think, against a tougher team and under a lot more pressure, will their top players still be as good?
I am not so sure, which is why I am backing Brazil to win.
A lot rests on Neymar's shoulders of course but the hosts are not the only team to be relying on a stand-out player - Argentina are the same, with Lionel Messi.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0

France v Germany (Quarter-finals, Rio de Janiero, 1700 BST)
The World Cup quarter-final action gets started with the eagerly anticipated clash between European heavyweights France and Germany.
There's plenty to relish about this Maracana meeting but I reckon it will take a little bit of time to get going.
All six of the final World Cup round of 16 matches were goalless at half-time and the last two went without a goal in the duration of normal time, Argentina and Belgium both progressed via extra-time on Tuesday.
The heat has been a major factor in the early kick-offs and can be expected to play a part in the tempo of this contest too.
Both of Germany's final two group games were also without a goal at the break and France ensured their progress from Group E as winners with a 0-0 draw against Ecuador.
I reckon this trend will continue and 13/8 with Paddy Power for the match to remain goalless at half-time makes appeal.
That will leave us set up for a very tense second half and I think Germany can just about get the job done.
It did take extra-time to get past Algeria last time out but Joachim Low's men were dominant for most of that game and having Manuel Neuer as the last line of defence is a big plus.
Andre Schurrle is another player to watch for Germany.
The Chelsea forward netted in extra-time when coming off the bench against Algeria and provides a real danger for the France defence.
He's 3/1 in the anytime goalscorer market but backing him to net last could well be the way to go at 17/2 with bwin.
Verdict: France 0 Germany 1 (NH)

Brazil v Colombia (Quarter-finals, Fortaleza, 2100BST)
The hosts have maintained their position at the head of the outright betting but from what I have seen so far, it is a rather tenuous grip.
I am no psychologist but the emotional frenzy that the Brazilians have whipped themselves into so far has looked detrimental to their game.
We are only just through the last-16 phase yet the draining nature of the penalty shootout success over Chile looked to take a huge amount out of Phil Scolari's men, many of them collapsed on the turf in tears.
They have potentially three more games to lift themselves for and there can only be so much left in the tank for them emotionally as the pressure is cranked up.
Technically they look beatable as well. The fear prior to the start of the tournament was that winning it will be down to Neymar and that has very much looked the case.
He has driven this team tremendously but it is physically impossible for him to both create and then score all goals. Chile certainly knew the tactic that was going to halt Brazil as Neymar twice had to come off for treatment as he finished the 120 minutes like a prize fighter have gone the distance.
He has declared himself fit for duty again though and rivals Colombia may not actually have to kick the Barcelona man off the park to win such is the impression they have made already.
They have not been hard pressed to win all their games so far and 11 goals scored has made them the second-most lethal to date in the tournament.
James Rodriguez has announced his arrival as a world star in no uncertain terms while coach Jose Pekerman looks as tactically astute as anyone on the touchline.
In Brazil's favour is the fact that no one team has stood out from the pack so far and that means there is still time to stamp their authority on proceedings.
But I feel Colombia and the wily Pekerman could force Brazil to the brink once more and although they have only ever beaten them twice, the last four clashes have all been draws with this Colombian outfit not short on self-belief.
I think they have a very solid profile to land an even money touch in the double chance market.
Verdict: Brazil 1 Colombia 1 (DJ)

(4) LONGCAT HANOVER has displayed the ability to take some air and finish well. (1) APOSTLES CREED is the first foal from a mare who earned just $128K. He qualified well but figures to be a short price for the team of Takter and Gingras.

Race 2

(2A) CANEPA HANOVER demolished his foes in his most recent baby race. Colt is a half-brother to $1.9 million-earner Glidemaster. (1) STONEBRIDGE FORCE qualified well and dug in late in his lone baby race. His half-sister was the $927K-winning Creamy Mimi. (5) MOUNTAIN TOP is the first foal from a mare who earned $462K and trotted 1:53 2/5. Nice to see trainer De Cid call on a catch-driver.

Race 3

(10) CHEYENNE MIRIAM raced evenly in a C-1 the last time she was here. Post 10 presents some issues, but the class relief should allow Gingras to fire her off the gate and go a long way. (3) DELICIOUSLYNAUGHTY is a logical contender but has only 3 wins in her last 58 starts. (2) SPELL TO CAST gets some post relief and should be closer to the action.

Race 4

(2) MISSION BRIEF blew up in her career debut but is clearly fast enough to win this race. If the price is better, I’d take a shot. (7) SATURDAY MORNINGS went wire to wire to begin his career; clear threat. (9) JOSIE’S JOY didn’t show much in her lone baby race but is a half-sister to the talented Smilin Eli, who won $740K and trotted in 1:52 1/5.

Race 5

(1) MUSCLE MIDAS seems to be a step faster than this group right now and is perfectly drawn at the cones. (4) DEJATIERO raced very well in his career debut but got sick. If he is fresh and ready, watch out. (7) SOUTHWIND POSEIDON had to pick up some confidence with a convincing win last time.

Race 6

(8) SHEBESTINGIN added Lasix and looked very good in her recent qualifier. She should be headed down the road. (7) DROP THE BALL only needs a smooth trip to best this bunch and driver Smith was hot last weekend. (5) MATTIE TERROR GIRL is sharp enough to consider despite the tougher competition.

Race 7

(4) ROCKET ROSY couldn’t handle some tough mares after a five week break. This group is much easier. (5) WESTERN EMPRESS is very sharp now. (9) MAJOR LOOK comes out of the same race as the top choice and raced better than her despite a more difficult journey. That said, the outside post and new driver are negatives.

Race 8

(3) MY LEAP OF FAITH has been a bit unlucky in some of his recent races. He is just as fast as any in here and can get over the hump with a smooth trip. (2) PT’S BOOMERANG comes off a strong effort and seems to have found his ‘A’ game. (5) BOUNCING BAX finally got in the win column this year. Classy 4-year-old has a right to keep improving.

Race 9

(4) NEWSBOY MORIARTY finds a much better spot this week and should be tough to beat. (5) LAD PINE drops out of the same series as the top choice; must use. (10) BEAU JOE has the speed to overcome post 10.

Race 10

(1) WANNA WIN gets post and class relief this week. The last time she raced in a straight C-2 conditioned race, she won. (4) MISS MACHQUEEN exits the same race as the top choice and deserves some respect. (2) JARNAC has been third or better in 11 of 16 starts this year. (7) UF DRAGON’S QUEEN adds Gingras and has a shot.

Race 11

(8) SPEAK THE TRUTH is a decent young trotter who finally gets away from stakes foes. Toscano trainee could perk up against this field. (6) HILLUSTRIOUS only needs to stay trotting to have a big say in the outcome. (7) CEE BEE YES has early speed and ability. (4) LIGHTNING FORCE comes off a nice win but faces tougher.

Race 12

(2) MISTRESSWITHMUSCLE was reserved for much of the mile last time and finished up nicely in a fast mile. (6) SKATES N PLATES finally gets away from stakes competition. (3) ANGELS RANSOM should be forwardly placed.

Race 13

(5) MCKENZIE’S STAR comes off a pair of tough trips and should look to control the action against this dull field. (7) J CS JAKE had no shot while last on the rim most recently. (3) CAPTAIN PRIMEAU could perk up in a spot like this one.

Race 3

(4) LILSHARKSHOOTER returns to Yonkers and draws much better. (1) S F LAW & NO GIN both of these can be right in the mix and get post relief to boot.

Race 4

(1) NEIGHSAY HANOVER Quite sharp in his last two tries at Tioga. Moves back to the half-mile oval and with the right trip, he can make tonight a winning one. (3) P L FANTASTIC wheeled off two straight victories; big threat again. (2) BLACKTUXWHITESOCKS gets post relief and Brennan signs on.

Race 5

(2) PUTNAMS ATTACK put in a game effort in his recent trip to the post. Good to see Brennan back aboard. (3) SIX GUN was second best in his last two starts puts this guy in the hunt. (8) BLUE STRIKE could have a say from the 8-hole.

Race 6

(8) CORAGGIOSO tough loss for win honors last time out. Trotter retains the eight slot and has every right to get back on the winning track. (1) ZOOMING should do quite well from the fence. (7) WISHING STONE was sent down the road last out for all the glory at The Meadowlands; watch out.

Race 7

Will try (4) MARTY PARTY to put her best foot forward for the upset. (8) MONKEY ON MY WHEEL Very strong trotting mare will clearly be the one to deny. (7) SUMMERTIME LEA completes the trifecta.

Race 8

(7) LORENZO DREAM has scored his last two in a row. Trotter has a chance to get it done for his third straight victory. (8) DWS NY YANK was nailed for the win in his most recent outing; big threat. (3) AWESOME VALLEY could make some noise in the stretch drive.

Race 9

(1) ROCKAROUND SUE showed some speed at Philly last time around. Pacing miss is very capable of making tonight a winning one from her rail slot. (5) MAGIC STARLIGHT has put in two nice runs at Philly; main danger. (2) GROUNDED tripped out for the victory recently; watch out again.

Race 10

With the right trip and a timed drive from Bartlett, (1) BY A TIME can take these to task for all the cash. (7) HOT RODDY beat lesser company in his last try. (6) TALKTOMECOURAGE N just held on for the victory last out.

Race 11

With a complete meltdown (3) MUSCOLO can mow these down the stretch to bring home the bacon. (1) HOORAYFORVACATION moves down in class and the rail slot can help his cause. (6) FIRSTCLASSPRINCESS She has good early trot and Brennan stays aboard.

Race 12

(4) KEYSTONE WANDA Very sharp in her last two trips to the post. With that said, this gal seems to be ready for best effort against these. (1) STRINGS gets class relief and moves back to the fence; big threat. (6) ROCK N LOAD Upstate invader can be a factor in here.

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: MAJOR DANCER (9th)

Spot Play: AGGRESSIVE (1st)

Race 1

(8) AGGRESSIVE is a youngster that I'm hoping for a price on to kick off the card. He faces an easier class, has gate-speed and is due for a win. (6) KEEP THE CASH comes from the McIntosh barn, has won three of six this season and is capable of improving. (3) WIZARD OF OSNEY made a break in her latest, but was a winner two back. She draws well, is versatile and Milner's barn has been good this season.

Race 2

(4) SOME POWER qualified sharply in 1:54 4/5, comes from the Coleman barn and is ready for his first career start. (7) AMORA BEACH won last week at first asking and will look to repeat. (2) ON THE ROCKS draws inside and was an open length winner in his speedy qualifier.

Race 3

(1) POCKET TRIP gets much needed post relief and won at this level two back. (7) OLE JACK MAGIC has been very consistent all season and may offer a fair price. (8) MAJESTIC GINGER has been driven well as of late by Steacy and has posted back-to-back wins.

Race 4

(7) IGNITE THE NITE disappointed last week as the favourite and is capable of rebounding at the same class. (2) GOLDIES MACH has won two straight and been terrific since entering the Menary barn. (5) MURRAYFIELD is very capable in here. She draws well and put forth a good effort in her latest. She's a price horse.

Race 5

(5) DOUBLEDOWN GASS has finished second in each of his three starts this season and is due. (8) BODY BALANCE comes from the Maxwell barn and went a big trip in his latest. (4) DEMENTED has the speed, draws better this week and was an open length winner in her latest.

Race 6

(3) BET YA will aim for her fourth straight win of the season. She draws inside and will get the bulk of attention. (4) BRESCIA SEELSTER exploded in deep stretch last week en route to victory. She's a likable candidate in here as well. (7) SECTIONLINE AQUA drops out of the Gold Series after finishing third and faces a much easier field.

Race 7

(3) BEST RISQUE draws inside and disappointed as the favourite last week off the claim. I'll try him again this week. (4) ERIKSTAR MINDALE lit up the tote board last week in this class at 22-1. She provided a late kick and draws better this week. (6) PLAY AT WYNN closed very well last week in this class and comes from the Gallucci barn.

Race 8

(1) MARINADE HANOVER moves onto this circuit, gets the rail and shows speedy miles over The Meadowlands to give her top billing in here. (2) HAT TRICK HONEY drops in class, draws inside and is due for a big effort. (4) TRAMA UNIT also drops in class and gets post relief. She'll likely offer a price and enjoys racing from behind.

Race 9

(3) MAJOR DANCER is the filly to beat in this final despite tasting defeat in last week's second round. (8) BROOKDALE SHADOW provided the mini upset last week for Moore and Waples. She's a top threat in here and likely will be put into play in the early stages. (7) POLK DOT HANOVER has won two of her last three, comes from the Menary barn and has a good record this season.

Race 10

(3) MY SECRET BELLE has won two straight, draws inside and has been very consistent this season. (1) SOMETHININCREDIBLE gets the rail and put in a sub-par effort last week. I'll try her again and look for a better performance. (5) A REAL COMMITMENT has been the picture of consistency this season, jumps in class and comes from the Johnson barn.

Race 11

(2) HOPE FOR PADDY missed last week as the favourite, draws inside and is a top threat once again. (1) TAIL R SWIFT gets the rail, comes from Moreau's barn and has hit the board in each of her last six starts. (3) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT was a winner last week in the debut of Auciello and is capable of the class jump.
