KEY STAT: Hannover have kept one clean sheet in their last 17 matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Stuttgart have improved considerably since Huub Stevens took over and they can continue to kick clear of relegation trouble with a positive result at Hannover. Stuttgart have played seven games under Stevens and lost just twice with one of those coming against Borussia Dortmund when they were reduced to ten men.

RECOMMENDATION: Stuttgart

KEY STAT: Yeovil have won one of their last ten matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Brighton dropped out of the Championship play-off places earlier this week but should improve their chances of cementing their top-six berth at home to basement side Yeovil. The Glovers have fought valiantly in their first season in the second tier but the extra quality of the hosts looks likely to seal their relegation.

RECOMMENDATION: Brighton

KEY STAT: Both teams have scored in nine of Partick's last ten Scottish Premiership matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Partick have the worst home record in the Scottish top flight and this could prove to a tough game for a team who have won just twice at Firhill this season. The Buddies have shown some great spirit in their battle to avoid the relegation play-off place and should build on encouraging victories over Motherwell and Hibernian.

RECOMMENDATION: St Mirren

KEY STAT: Roma have won their last eight matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Milan are on a five-match winning streak but they are still 31 points inferior to Roma and the hosts look the best in this one. There can be no doubt the Rossoneri have recovered well in recent weeks although the last four victories have come against sides in the bottom seven and this is so much tougher against second-placed Roma.

RECOMMENDATION: Roma

KEY STAT: Ipswich have scored in nine of their last ten matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Burnley finally secured their promotion to the Premier League with a victory over Wigan and may well finally extinguish Ipswich's faint play-off hopes once and for all. Mick McCarthy's visitors have failed to capitalise on the slip-ups of those in the top six but the attacking potency they have shown since in 2014 means they can at least give the Clarets something to think about.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Rangers remain unbeaten after 34 league games this season

EXPERT VERDICT: Rangers secured the title sometime ago but with just two games remaining the Gers are still unbeaten and only two wins away from breaking the 100-point barrier. One of those victories looks likely to come at home to third-placed Stranraer, who gained a surprise point at Ibrox in December with a last-minute equaliser but who lost their other two matches against Rangers without scoring.

RECOMMENDATION: Rangers 3-0

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: PRIVATE PERFORMANC (7th)

Spot Play: WINDSONG GLAMOROUS (11th)

Race 1

(8) DELCREST JULIAN gets dropped into a claimer after racing against a much tougher level. Even after the layoff, he appears to be the horse to beat. (7) RECKON IM READY is fresh off a gate-to-wire score and gets Jamieson back in the bike. (3) JOSEPH GERARD draws inside and has been closing very well in his last two to hit the ticket.

Race 2

(9) RAMMY GIRL has the speed for this class and moves into the Riley barn. She may offer a fair price and is capable of the task. (1) SOMEBAYSOMEWHERE draws inside, comes out of the Johnson barn and should get a cleaner trip this week. (6) ONE LAST BONO won at this level last week, enjoys being put in the race and will offer a low price.

Race 3

(2) MIYAGI HANOVER moves into the Auciello barn, draws well and is due for his first win of the season. (4) FRIEND OR FOE has won two straight and still doesn't get the respect from the betting public. (7) PARLIA HANOVER missed last week as the favourite in the debut of Montini. She's worth playing again at this same class.

Race 4

(5) MACH A WISH closed very well in her first start of the season last week and should be even better on the class drop. (1) DREAMFAIR ECLIPSE gets the rail, drops in class and has a patented late kick. (4) EAT ME UP has a lot of back class in her favour, draws well and closed very well last week at a higher level.

Race 5

(8) HOUSE OF CASH has terrific closing speed, but doesn't like to win. Class drop is a big factor. (10) O U SEXY GUY is versatile, drops in class and should provide a fair price from post 10. (2) PAPER BACKED LINDY draws well, comes out of Henriksen's barn and remains at the same class.

Race 6

(4) ALIBI SEELSTER had a successful rookie season last year and is fresh off a convincing qualifier for trainer Darling. (1) MY SECRET BELLE hasn't missed the board yet this season and has returned after a short break. (2) RUBIS PRESCOTT draws well, gets Jamieson in the bike and hasn't missed the board in her last four.

Race 7

(4) PRIVATE PERFORMANC has been knocking on the door at this level, comes out of the McIntosh barn and is due for her first win of the season. (3) RIVETING draws well and has also been a prime threat in her last three. (8) A FILLY AFFAIR got the job done last week at this level and is a good option for the triactor.

Race 8

(1) LASTING APPEAL gets the rail and makes her first start of the season. Her 1:51 effort last year is hard to overlook. (3) ARTFUL IMPULSE also comes from the McIntosh barn, draws well and has been racing strongly in her first two of the season. (5) TAKE THAT HANOVER comes out of the Darling barn, won her qualifier last week and appears ready in her first start of the campaign.

Race 9

(4) LIVE TO DREAM has a lot of back class in her favour, is versatile and drops down to the bottom class. (3) LYONSAURA draws inside and has hit the board in two of her last three. (8) CANT STOP ROCKIN closed very well last week and is capable of hitting the traictor at a high price. She'll need a trip from the outside.

Race 10

(8) WAASMULA went a punishing mile last week, but tends to be inconsistent. I'll try her again after last week's effort. (1) MARQUISE DE SARAH will attract a lot of attention based on her record this season and is a must have for the exactor. (5) JENNA CASIMIR continues to move up the ladder and after two straight wins, she's capable of hitting the triactor in her toughest test.

Race 11

(4) WINDSONG GLAMOROUS draws well, drops in class and has been pacing back-to-back 1:52 miles. (7) LIFETIME JEWEL makes her third start of the season, remains at the same class and closed very well last week. (10) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT will have to overcome post 10, but has a lot of back class to her and has hit the board in two of her last three.

Yonkers: Friday 4/25 Analysis
By Brewster Smith
DRF HARNESS

MEET STATS: 119 - 468 / $738.90 BEST BETS: 12 - 37 / $46.70

Best Bet: BACK TO THE WEST (3rd)

Spot Play: R GAUWITZ HANOVER (3rd)

Race 1

(2) BLADE SEELSTER gets a better slot to work with and should be ready to fire his best. (3) ARTS ON FIRE and (4) DRIVE EM COWBOY both of these could factor in here.

Race 2

(1) FLEX THE MUSCLE finally receives post relief and that might help his cause against this group. (4) WHATA WINNER drops a notch in class and that makes him a contender. (5) IDOL KEMP could be right in the mix.

Race 3

(3) R GAUWITZ HANOVER showed sharp speed in his previous trip. Very capable of taking these down the road. (2) BAD AS BART put in a mild rally in his last try. (1) WAYWARD SON should be right there from the fence.

Race 4

(1) LOOKING HANOVER gets the rail ride and this gelding is fit and ready to boss these with Brennan at the helm. (4) TURTLE EXPRESS raced evenly last out at Pocono. (3) PROSPECT Trotting miss is knocking at the door; watch out.

Race 5

(4) FEELIN CORNERED With the right trip, this pacing gelding could take these to task for all the marbles. (7) NEWBEGINING & (3) CLEM both could make some noise down the lane.

Race 6

(5) SUPER MANNING was second best in his latest and this trotter fits well in here; all systems go. (8) DWS NY YANK has wheeled off two straight victories. (7) BLACKTUXWHITESOCKS Sharp trotter has scored in his last two.

Race 7

(5) MASTER PINE Tough break in his last start so with that said, he clearly is better than his last flop. (4) ZOOMING showed some speed in his last trip to the post. (2) BOB N TONY could land a share.

Race 8

(4) HULAS Z TAM put in a good try in her recent trip and she could return to her winning ways with the right trip. (8) FAST AND FIESTY Game effort for win honors last time around. (2) KEEPERS DESTINY Solid two placings in a row puts this guy right square in the mix.

Race 9

(2) MIAS BOLD MANEUVER seems to be knocking at the door; maybe this might be the night this guy takes his first score of 2014. (2) ROCKNDREAM moves back to the rail slot and that will help his chances tonight. (5) DEBT OF HONOR has scored in his last two outings; watch out again.

Race 10

(3) BACK TO THE WEST did not fire his best as the chalk last out but clearly can rebound back to his best form. (7) ROCK ME PLEASE has good speed and should be the main danger. (1) WESTERN COLE gets the best of the draw; beware.

Race 11

(6) TOBER moves down the scale and this trotting gelding is good enough to get the job done. (3) BOUND FOR FAME has scored his last two in a row and will quite dangerous in here. (4) TALL COTTON was sent down the road for all the marbles in his recent try.

Race 12

(3) COCOA BEACH moves to the inside, drops in class and Bartlett is back aboard; the pick. (1) MAGIC STARLIGHT The rail slot can make this gal a factor in here. (4) CAROLS DESIRE could land a share.

Race 1 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 117 - 435 / $691.00 BEST BETS: 17 - 35 / $64.20

Best Bet: WOMAN OF TERROR (8th)

Spot Play: PITA (4th)

Race 1

(9) ON DISPLAY raced pretty well while chasing the talented Little Brown Fox in his most recent qualifier. The fact that trainer Trond Smedshammer was going to drive and instead enlisted Tim Tetrick, tells me this gelding is probably ready to fire. (1) DOT DOT DOT DASH is not the most talented in this group, but is fairly consistent and should stay close to the pace from the cones. (8) DUOLOTTACHEATIN is capabale of a big mile and Gingras in the bike is usually a plus.

Race 2

(6) SCANDALOUS HANOVER flashed speed and packed it in last time at Yonkers. I’m going to give her another chance coming back to the mile track. (5) MARTY PARTY steps up off a decent try. She is good enough to play with this group. (8) LORRIE PLEASE is simply not the same mare she was six weeks ago. That said, she has early speed and should stick around.

Race 3

I have a feeling that there will be a fair amount of early speed in this race and a closer will win. (4) DON’T KNOW CHIP seems to be racing well on an every other week schedule and certainly qualifies as a good deep closer. (6) WARRAWEE OLAY is one of the likely early pace players. If she is sitting the pocket or left alone on the engine, watch out. (2) LAD PINE is capable of stepping up with a clean trip. (3) HASTY PROFFITT has a shot if kept closer to the action.

Race 4

(5) PITA finished nicely at huge odds in her 3-year-old debut. While some might ignore her again, it is very possible that she matured into a better horse over the winter months. (6) I NEED HOTSTUFF has some ability but didn’t exactly set the world on fire in her debut. (3) MOONLIT SHARK only needs a smooth trip to get a nice piece.

Race 5

(5) FONDANT was sneaky good in his recent qualifier and this field is hardly loaded with talent. (1) AVALICIOUS qualified nicely following a barn change. (4) SCARY MAGIC kicked home in 27 2/5 with Lasix added; using.

Race 6

(9) NOVASCOTIA HANOVER raced well in her 2014 debut and should move forward with that start under her halter. (2) SWINGING BEAUTY & (1) TOP BRAND are both getting class relief; dangerous.

Race 7

(4) BOFFIN has the ability to trot some fast miles. Kevin Lare trainee comes in from Dover in sharp form. (1) HERE COMES NUMBERS was a winner each of his previous two starts but can’t seem to mind his manners in the final sixteenth; dangerous and risky. (3) NF HAPPENSTANCE has proven herself a capable player. (5) BLUTO, (6) TIRADE HANOVER & (8) HIGH BRIDGE are 4-year-olds with talent. Any of the trio could step up.

Race 8

(5) WOMAN OF TERROR had absolutely no chance last time but still paced home willingly. Trainer Steve Elliott has this mare ready for a big effort and the addition of Gingras in the bike only makes her a better play. (3) BREATHTAKING almost lasted on the engine last time. This race might be tougher. (10) IDEAL GINNY seems likely to show big early speed and have a say in the outcome.

Race 9

(4) JANIE BAY was a sharp winner when last seen at the C-1 level. She actually raced pretty well from post 10 versus better last week. (6) LEAVEUMLADY drops down a notch and finds the perfect spot to flash early speed. (1) SPIRIT OF DESIRE is a consistent performer who should at least get an exotic spot.

Race 10

(7) WHEELS went a big mile in his first start for this barn; worth following. (2) MARCH AWARENESS perked up with Lasix added. (4) CAPTAIN PRIMEAU has been racing well lately.

Race 11

(5) MODERN FAMILY continues to impress and figures to head down the road in this spot. (1) UNDERCOVER STRIKE gets the true acid test tonight. Can he pass Modern Family late? (4) UNCLE PETER is a top trotter but I’m going to watch from the sidelines in his first start of the year.

Race 12

(1) CRAZY EIGHTS finds a soft spot and should take charge. (6) THISTHATNTHEOTHER wasn’t going very far from post 10 last time. This mare still looks sharp. (5) JARNAC has been on the board in each of her last four tries.

Race 13

(2) OFFINTOTHESUNSET comes off a good effort at Philly and looks like a fit with this evenly-matched group. (1) BELLE BOYD has tons of class but hasn’t figured out life as a 4-year-old. (5) NOTREADYTOBENICE is usually good for a piece and does step up at times. (8) SURFSIDE SEXY enteres the Ron Burke barn.

Pimlico - Race #3 - Post: 2:06pm - Maiden Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $16,000 Class Rating: 62

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#8 STAR LEEN (ML=6/1)
#7 ITS A LITTLE CHILI (ML=10/1)

STAR LEEN - I really like that latest outing on April 11th at Charles Town where she ended up second. Getting a break of 13 lbs from last race at Charles Town. She should make the most of this advantage. ITS A LITTLE CHILI - This pony coming off a good try in the last thirty days is a win candidate in my opinion.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 GRAEME'S SONG (ML=5/2), #6 INSIDE TAP (ML=3/1), #5 WAGER THESE TERMS (ML=5/1),

GRAEME'S SONG - The chalk horse is suspect here with the lack of workouts. INSIDE TAP - Hard to bet this runner the way she ran irregularly last time out. Finished second in her most recent race with a mediocre speed rating. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this group. WAGER THESE TERMS - Don't believe this runner has what it takes to be victorious this time out.

Race #9 - Rating = 2
#4 Hangover Kid - Fair odds 7/2
#3 Unitarian - Fair odds 7/2
#8 Tattenham - Fair odds 7/2
#13 Forte Dei Marmi - Fair odds 7/2

Just a cut below the top four contenders, but not toss outs in case you are considering exotic wagers involving this race, are #10 Tricky Hat, #5 Temeraine, #12 Eagle Poise as well as (another slight cut below in my opinion) #6 Suntracer and #11 Amen Kitten, both who have as many or more runner-up finishes in their careers as wins.

Hangover Kid gets the slightest preference in this year's Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes, a mile and one-half marathon, the horse a deep closer who finished 2nd of 12 two back in the Grade 3 Red Smith Handicap and who then followed that up 4 months later last month when finishing fast from 9th to 2nd in a tough allowance race at a much shorter distance. He won at 11 furlongs in the Summer of 2012 to prove he really likes these longer races and with 12 first or second place finishes in 21 career starts including a 9 for 14 1st or 2nd record on turf he's got a nice shot at a price, particularly with Leparoux riding when he's NEVER ridden the horse before and doesn't ride for the trainer.

Unitarian won a mile and 7/16 race, just short of this 1 1/2 mile trip, in January, Castellano up then as now, beating Lochte in the process, with that horse coming back to win not one but Two stakes races in a row. Unitarian won after that then ran poorly but the distance was too short and he broke badly as well as Castellano did not ride so with Javier back aboard, for Pletcher, this colt has a right to get his first stakes win.

Tattenham ran a career best race when last seen in Late February also winning at a mile and 7/16, Rosario up then and riding back for the barn of Hall-of-Fame trainer Bill Mott. Flattered when the runner-up from that last race came back to win this lightly raced 4 year old has not peaked yet and adds another layer of depth to this year's Elkhorn.

Forte Dei Marmi may go favored here based on his Grade 1 Northern Dancer Stakes win in September and he certainly can improve after a prep race over the track at a shorter distance on 4/5. He won three straight last summer and has won 10 of 34 so would be no surprise but is no standout with so many good marathoners in this field so I'll use him on exotic wager tickets I play but certainly hope one of the others gets the win at higher odds.

AS NOTED - Last time out on Nov 22nd was a good tune-up for today. Got respectable betting action in that one, but finished fourth. Have to do better right here. It looks like Dasilva had to be more familiar with this filly on Nov 22nd when riding her for the initial time. Back on board again today.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 LAST MINUTE LUCY (ML=2/1), #7 HURRICANE MIMI (ML=5/2), #4 EVERY PENNY COUNTS (ML=6/1),

LAST MINUTE LUCY - Hasn't hit the board in any short distance races recently. Not probable to see her doing it this time either. I think this morning-line favorite needs this race under her belt to start getting back into shape. Didn't meet expectations as the public's choice the last two times. HURRICANE MIMI - Tough to support any less than sharp equine in a sprint event if she hasn't finished in the money in a sprint in the last couple months. When checking today's Equibase class figure, she will have to garner a much better speed figure than last time out to battle in this dirt sprint. EVERY PENNY COUNTS - In any race of 5 furlongs, I like to play a contender that has been looking good in short distance events recently. The speed rating last time out doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class figure of today's race. Mark this thoroughbred as a vulnerable contender.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - AS NOTED - Trainer puts this filly on Lasix for the second time in succession. An indication Tiller is putting her in to win right here in this race.

Have to go with #5 AS NOTED on the win end if we get at least 1/1 odds

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 10 HOT DIGGERTY DASH 7/2

# 9 DIVA FOR CASH 8/1

# 5 MAGGIE OSHEA 8/1

HOT DIGGERTY DASH is my choice. In against a much easier bunch than last time out. Should compete quite well in the early speed contest which bodes well with this group of horses in this race. DIVA FOR CASH - Her chances to score are much better this time out facing this easier field. MAGGIE OSHEA - Opposing a much softer bunch than last time out.

RACE #1 - AQUEDUCT - 1:20 PM EASTERN POST
7.0 FURLONGS DIRT FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD ALLOWANCE $52,000.00 PURSE

#1 ELMRA
#2 MAXANA
#3 KISS CAT
#6 LADY LUCIANO

#1 ELMRA has excellent early speed abilities to compliment for this sprint at today's "specialized distance" of 7.0 furlong on the dirt, is the pace profile leader, and has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in both of her two career starts to date, including a "POWER RUN WIN" to break her maiden in her last start, in a race which was contested at today's TrackMaster PLUS Class Level of 80. Jockey Rajiv Maragh was in her irons for those two "board hit races," and is back today for his 3rd ride, gunning for back-to-back "Circle Trips!" #2 MAXANA, a 6-1 shot, takes a class drop (-12), and is the overall speed leader in this allowance field, and has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in three of her last four "adventures," including a "POWER RUN WIN" in her 3rd race back.
