KEY STAT: PSG have lost just one of their last 18 Ligue 1 away matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Metz have made decent progress in their first season back in the top flight but this looks a tough test against unbeaten PSG. The Parisiens have injury worries with Lucas Moura and Zlatan Ibrahimovic struggling, but expect Edinson Cavani to step up to the plate and score the first goal.

RECOMMENDATION: E Cavani first goalscorer

KEY STAT: Espanyol have not won any of their last nine away matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Athletic Bilbao have been struggling to juggle their Champions League and La Liga commitments but remain tough to beat at San Mames and may have the edge over 12th-placed Espanyol. A tight match is on the cards but it could be another case of away-day blues for the Blue Budgies, who have not won on the road since March.

RECOMMENDATION: Ath Bilbao

KEY STAT: Fulham have lost one of their last four away matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Brentford are on a three-match winning run, a sequence which includes a defeat of Championship leaders Derby but they may struggle to extend the run. Fulham are unbeaten in six league games but three of those finished in stalemate and another draw is the best bet.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

# 4 MISS LIV 7/2

# 1 STRIKING SERENADE 10/1

# 6 MONTICELLO LULU 8/1

The play here is MISS LIV. Many selectors know speed is of the utmost importance. This solid standardbred has credentials with a 82 average rating. Most likely the class of the field of starters with an average rating of 81. A nice play. Many horse players will recognize the fantastic TrackMaster speed fig in the last race. Stacks up against any horse in this group of animals. STRIKING SERENADE - With a 74 average class statistic, this race horse has one of the finest class edges in the grouping. Recorded a 78 TrackMaster Speed Rating last time out. A duplicate effort here should get the victory today. MONTICELLO LULU - Not many knocks against this nice horse, let's give her a shot.

# 8 SAINT SIMEON 9/2

# 4 FAWN DE J 3/1

# 5 ADRENALIN JUNKIE 6/1

SAINT SIMEON positively should be supported as the horse to beat today. Overall statistics look really good. Can't throw him out of the picture. His 75 average has this gelding among the best speed ratings in here. Has a substantial shot in this one, if he can repeat his back class. FAWN DE J - Is a substantial win contender given the 69 TrackMaster Speed Rating from his most recent race. The 4 slot is on fire here at Harrah's Philadelphia. More wins than is normal. ADRENALIN JUNKIE - Many race players will recognize the exemplary TrackMaster Speed Rating in the last gathering. Stacks up against any horse in this field of starters. Harrah's Philadelphia has been playing to this standardbred's running style, we're looking for a bang-up effort.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 2 BOLD DEREK 10/1

# 5 BOURBON BOUND 2/1

# 7 VENDONAH 7/1

BOLD DEREK is my choice especially at such a decent 10/1. He has recorded solid numbers under today's conditions and will probably fare well versus this group of animals. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the field as of late. This trainer has the most favorable return on investment in this field with entries racing at this distance and surface. BOURBON BOUND - Is a sharp contender based on numbers garnered lately under today's conditions. With Diego aboard him, this gelding will probably be able to break out quickly here. VENDONAH - The Lasix change (with second time Lasix) may spark a turnaround for this gelding. Looks solid to be up on the front end at the first call.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 2 JANES SHIP 7/2

# 1 NEVADA DEPUTY 10/1

# 7 FUNNY SMOKE 15/1

JANES SHIP looks to be a very good contender. NEVADA DEPUTY - Could best this group of horses here, showing competitive figures of late. She has formidable class ratings, averaging 79, and has to be given a shot in this competition. FUNNY SMOKE - Must be given a chance - I like the figs from the last outing.

Del Mar - Race #1 - Post: 12:30pm - Starter Allowance - 8.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $30,000 Class Rating: 77

#2 RACING FOR CHASEN (ML=4/1)
#3 WATDIFRENZDZITMAKE (ML=3/1)
#6 SEEK SAFE HARBOR (ML=4/1)

RACING FOR CHASEN - This jockey and trainer have a favorable return on investment when they unite. Abrams brings her right back. I advocate you stick with this hot filly. The horse with the top average class rating in turf events is usually a solid play. This pony fits the bill. This horse brings in a lot of money per start. At the top in this race. WATDIFRENZDZITMAKE - She'll be laying in perfect position, right behind the front runners. D'Amato has a very great win percent in grass routes. This filly should be conditioned properly and ready to go. PP lines show this horse with three improving speed figs. Pereira should be on a live one right here. SEEK SAFE HARBOR - This filly is in exceptional form right now. Finished first in the last race and comes back quickly. Filly won her last race here on November 13th as a shipper. I think she looks like a winner once again. Wired the field on Nov 13th at Del Mar. Quite possible she can do it again in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 MIDNIGHT CANDY (ML=7/5), #5 TRIBAL EXPRESS (ML=8/1),

MIDNIGHT CANDY - The speed figures continue to decline, 74/70/59. Not a healthy signal. Don't feel this entrant will make a winning move today. That last speed figure was mediocre when compared with today's class figure. TRIBAL EXPRESS - Would have to get more than the oddsmaker's morning line of 8/1 to bet on this horse.

#2 MARITIME PULPIT (ML=5/2)
#7 SEEKING THE BAY (ML=12/1)
#3 ADAPTOR (ML=3/1)

MARITIME PULPIT - Ran a winning race Oct 24th, but just couldn't haul in the winner. De Paulo brings him right back. I advise you stick with this hot gelding. SEEKING THE BAY - I can't ignore the fact that this gelding is working extremely well. ADAPTOR - The morning line odds on this colt are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of trainer Attfield. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. Was in a Maiden Special race at Woodbine last time out. That affair had an Equibase class figure of 87 and he is moving down right here. A certain contender.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 CHIEFROLL'NTHUNDER (ML=2/1), #4 LUMBER MAN (ML=6/1),

CHIEFROLL'NTHUNDER - Hard to wager on any animal to turn things around if there is no wager value to taking the risk. LUMBER MAN - Multiple efforts for this horse at Woodbine and still hasn't received his first victory here.

Bet on #2 MARITIME PULPIT to win if we can get at least 3/1 odds

#5 LE DELUGE
#3 COCKTAILS WITH DAN
#6 MR. ESPRESSO
#7 SEEKER

#5 LE DELUGE qualifies as a TrackMaster PLUS "PowerPony," is the overall speed and pace profile leader, and has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in four of his last five outings, and goes to the post with the skills of the Jockey/Trainer tandem of Cornelio Velasquez and David Jacobson in his corner ... they've hit the board with an impressive 62% of more than 200 entries saddled as a team to date. #3 COCKTAILS WITH DAN, a 10-1 BOMB, has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in two of his last three "adventures," including a "POWER RUN WIN" in his 2nd race back.

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: TOTALLY RIPPED (3rd)

Spot Play: LETS LEAVEM (9th)

Race 1

(7) ME THE BOSS will get my top selection in this wide-open dash based on his consistency as of late. (2) OAKLEA WYATT gets major post relief this week and the gelded son of Amigo Hall likely will have his gate-speed utilized. (1) LEXUS ROCKY draws the rail and has hit the board in two of his last three starts.

Race 2

(3) KINDOFABIGDEAL looks like the horse to beat based on last week's big effort in a new career best clocking of 1:51 4/5. (4) VIP BAYAMA was the other division winner last week for trainer Stephane Larocque with a time of 1:52 1/5. (8) SO BAD IM GOOD made his third start back last week and finished a game third for trainer/driver Joe Hudon.

Race 3

(7) TOTALLY RIPPED was terrific last week to win the opening round of the series considering he made a break behind the gate. (4) WARRAWEE PREFERRED made a miscue last start and will look to rebound for trainer Per Henriksen. (6) WINDSUN COBRA has completed the triactor in each of his last two starts and comes from a very capable trotting conditioner in Ben Baillargeon.

Race 4

(9) FRANKIES FIRST LUV gets my top selection in this very wide-open tilt. (10) MAJOR HANGOVER doesn't like to win races, but is a must-use for the exactor/triactor with her recent performances. (7) SAM doesn't have the best record this season, but shows the speed needed for this dash.

Race 5

(6) WARRAWEE PRINCE went gate-to-wire last week in the opening round of the Autumn Series and looks like the horse to beat in this dash. (9) HEADSAREGONNA TURN raced very strong last week as the gelding attempted to go gate-to-wire, but came up short and had to settle for second. (1) RAMAS LAST SON gets major post relief this week with the rail as the sophomore began from post 10 last week in the opening round.

Race 6

(2) ADDISON BAY put forth a much better effort last week in the debut on lasix for trainer Dave Menary. (3) WILDCAT HANNA generally offers a fair price and the daughter of Mach Three has hit the board in four of her last five starts. (5) BACK YARD BABY has hit the board in each of her last two starts, draws in the middle of the gate and has put together a solid record this season.

Race 7

(5) BOAT HOUSE ROW has been knocking on the door in each of her last three starts and is due for a win. (7) SWINGING CAMI comes from the Tony Alagna barn and shows a much improved effort last week at 16-1. (9) BAROCKEY draws outside for a third straight week, but offers terrific gate-speed whenever it's called upon.

Race 8

(8) BULLET POINT likely will be the favourite in this dash when the gates unfold and rightfully so. (2) LIGHTS GO OUT is the other class-dropping mare in this field and the daughter of Western Ideal also comes out of the Fillies & Mares Preferred level. (4) BET YA just missed last week at this level for driver Jack Moiseyev.

Race 9

(5) LETS LEAVEM gets major class relief this week as the gelding drops back down into the bottom end condition class on the WEG Circuit. (2) SMARTY PANTS drops in class this week for trainer Richard Moreau and can't be overlooked in this class. (6) THE MUSCLER looked like he was going to be the winner in his latest pari-mutuel start of Nov. 7, but self destructed down the stretch.

Race 10

(5) SHES DANGEROUS finished fourth at a higher level last week therefore should be more effective in this lower condition for trainer Tony Alagna. (3) VAL DI NOTO has been the victim of outside post positions as of late, but the bay filly draws inside this week and driver Roger Mayotte will likely make the most of it. (6) PAID IN CASH will make her debut for new trainer Ted Macdonnell and the daughter of Well Said has put together a solid record this season.

Race 11

(1) NINE LIVES HANOVER didn't start the best last week, but made up for it as she closed from ninth-to-third in this class. (9) J HIGH has been terrific as of late with two straight wins at this level. (8) REGAL LUCK has hit the board in each of her last three starts and raced very well last week to finish second at this level.

MEET STATS: 4 - 26 / $14.20 BEST BETS: 1 - 2 / $3.60

Best Bet: SHAKE IT CERRY (9th)

Spot Play: SAYITALL BB (10th)

Race 1

(10) I'M ALL HEART made a nice move during a fast third quarter with trainer Ron Burke in the bike most recently. Three-year-old had some trouble on the smaller tracks in New York but could shine in this spot picking up top driver Yannick Gingras. (7) ACE OF SHARKS has fine recent form and looks hard to toss. (2) WHITE BLISS raced well in his career debut. White colt takes on older foes and is likely to get overbet because of his peculiar color.

Race 2

(1) SWEET ROCK raced well last time despite missing nearly two months of action. He should be sharper now and looks like a solid pick as the chalk. (8) ROCKEYED OPTIMIST is certainly good enough to beat this group, but he hasn't raced since August; Tetrick's choice. (7) BANDIX HANOVER ships in sharp but seems to be tackling a few tougher foes.

Race 3

(8) HARLEY MOMMA swept past the field in an impressive showing last time. Filly finally seems to have gotten her act together and clearly has the early speed to overcome the bad draw. (2A) MR LINDY chased home Breeders Crown starter Odds On Amethyst in a nice mile last week. This guy has a perfect mid-pack post and should be forwardly placed. (5) HILL I AM seems to be moving in the right direction. He is capable of taking a big step forward. (3) UVA HANOVER looks like an exotics must and a potential win candidate.

Race 4

(2) SOUTHWIND SERENITY & (2A) ATSALLRITE HANOVER form a potentially powerful entry from Ron Burke. The former makes her first start in his barn and is eligible to take a giant step forward. The latter is on a four-race win streak and set her lifetime mark here earlier in the year. (4) DO YOUR JOB doesn't look great on paper but is getting some class relief; price play. (1) VALENTINA DE VIE ships in for trainer Henrik Lundell off a pair of wins at Rosecroft and picks up a catch-driver tonight.

Race 5

(6) GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE was used up in a pretty fast pace on a night where being near the lead wasn't necessarily the best place to be. This looks like an easy spot. (7) HARBOR POINT was raced conservatively after missing five weeks of action; very dangerous. (2) FICO could perk up with the switch to the big track.

Race 6

(2) JOURNEYMAN debuts after the private purchase by Team Burke. There are no killers in this field and he can certainly pick up his game now. (3) LORD OF MISRULE finished willingly last time and has been racing fairly well lately. (5) CAVIART CHASE was a game winner last week. (9) ROCKSTAR STRIDE draws poorly and could be overbet after he stormed home for second most recently.

Race 7 – Breeders Crown

(4) HANDOVER BELLE may have shocked many people at 15-1 last time, but she was on my tickets. Four-year-old mare has proven she can go with these and she should set up nicely in this field behind cover from one of the two likely favorites to her inside. (2) CLASSIC MARTINE has been the best in this division all year; major player. (3) BEE A MAGICIAN has been just okay of late. She could win, and she does add Lasix, but I can't strongly endorse her.

Race 8 – Breeders Crown

(5) MISSION BRIEF is the fastest 2-year-old trotter in training. If she makes it off the gate without incident, she will win. (9) LIVININTHEFASTLANE was a solid second last week in a mile where I didn't get the impression she was wound tight; legitimate price play. (2) WILD HONEY is hard to fault at 10-for-11 lifetime. I'm simply not sold on her being much faster than most of these. (3) DANIELLE HALL made a nice move on the turn to finish second behind Mission Brief in their elimination; overbet?

Race 9 – Breeders Crown

(3) SHAKE IT CERRY would probably give the boys a run for their money right now. It's a horse race, so she could lose, but I'd be surprised if that happened. (2) LIFETIME PURSUIT got the best of the top choice in the Hambletonian Oaks but has been riding her coattails lately. (9) CEE BEE YES has completed the trifecta with the top pair in each of their last two meetings; again.

Race 10 – Breeders Crown

(9) SAYITALL BB comes off a pretty dull effort, but that happens from time to time, especially with fillies and mares. She was used hard near the lead on a track that wasn't ideal for that trip. She seems like one of the few that have early speed in this field and I'm not giving up on her. (5) COLOR'S A VIRGIN has done everything right and doesn't seem to mind bad trips. (4) GALLIE BYTHE BEACH has finally returned to peak form and only needs a reasonable trip to be a major factor. (3) GETTINGREADYTOROLL was clearly rough-gaited in the stretch in her elimination but still paced home willingly. The talent is there if she behaves. (1) MAJOR DANCER rarely misses the board and is a live trip away from a big mile.

Race 11

(1) HALL BRO posted a nice win in his Meadowlands debut and looks best again. (9) BAKERSFIELD comes in sharp for a top barn and has won on the big track in the past. (3) CAPOZZO was a decent third behind the top choice last time.

Race 12

(6) NOT AFRAID got parked weakly last time. I know he is better than that effort; second chance. (2) APPOMATTOX was a bit short off the layoff; good as any in here. (1) TAKE MY PICTURE was second going a 1 1/4 last time; should be tight for the mile tonight.

Race 13

(5) STALLONE BLUE CHIP tired late in his first start since June. He isn't the best horse in the world, but can go with this group at a price if he improves. (2) TWIN B SPY ships in sharp from Saratoga. Shippers from the Spa did well here last week. (7) SCHOOLKIDS only needs a smooth trip to menace. (1) PRINCE SHARKA didn't fire from the outside post but should show early speed this week.

Yonkers: Friday 11/21 Analysis
By Brewster Smith

DRF HARNESS

MEET STATS: 353 - 1321 / $2,347.20 BEST BETS: 29 - 110 / $137.20

Best Bet: LUCKY LUCKY LEO (7th)

Spot Play: SEA VENTURE (3rd)

Race 1

(4) LITERATE HANOVER showed signs of life last out and this gelding seems to be ready to get back to his winning form. (1) JUMP THE SHARK gets serious post relief and Brennan has the assignment. (3) GAVINS DESIGNER was second best in his last trip.

Race 2

(4) PICTONIAN PRIDE put in a sharp late rally last out to nail down the show spot; ready to roll tonight. (7) TALBOTCREEK ARMANI was sent down the road in his latest for all the glory. (1) BAY FISHEN DOC just got up for win honors in his last trip to the post.

Race 3

(2) SEA VENTURE did not have it at Freehold last time out, but the good news is he's back at Yonkers where he has done his best running. (4) IRAS BIG GUY Sharp in victory last week makes him a threat again. (1) EIGHT TEN EOM should fare quite well from the fence.

Race 4

Will take a shot with (5) NOBLES GRAND SLAM for the upset. Gelding faces no tigers in here and has every right to move forward. (2) MERCURIO N gets a better draw and Brennan is at the controls; main danger. (8) BETTORS CURSE Post hurts but moves down in class; watch out.

Race 5

(2) NY ICE If this gelding returns to his 11-7 trip, the rest would have to settle for place money. (8) FOX VALLEY LEO has tactical speed and should handle to move to the 8-hole. (6) CORKY BARAN gets class relief; not out of this.

Race 6

(4) HACIENDA Last time around, this gelding made a middle move at the three quarter pole and tired in the stretch drive. Might be ready to mow these down at his best. (3) FLYING INSTRUCTOR was used up in the early stages in his latest; the one to catch. (7) LUCKY MAN flashed good speed in his last start.

Race 7

(4) LUCKY LUCKY LEO raced evenly last out and this guy seems to be in fine form to get the job done tonight. (5) JOHNNY Z rallied strongly for win honors in his recent outing. (1) CLEM took the pocket route last out for the victory.

Race 8

Will try (4) COFFEE ADDICT to get back on the winning track; very capable. (6) ROBIN CRUISER is clearly knocking at the door based on her last three starts. (7) ROCKAROUND SUE Quite sharp for the score recently.

Race 9

(5) TYE SEELSTER showed good speed in his latest. Five-year-old could pull off the upset at his best. (2) LATE NITE FLIGHT has hit the board in his last three tries; threat. (1) CASHENDASH HANOVER Easy victory for this gelding last time out.

Race 10

(3) MAGIC STARLIGHT moves to tne 3-hole and that might help her cause against these. (1) KEYSTONE WANDA drops in class and draws the fence; major player. (2) ITS A MIRACLE should do much better from the two slot.

Race 11

(1) COOKING THE BOOKS moves down the ladder and gets the pole position for this; ready to roll. (3) CRAZY ON YOU closed sharply to get the job done last time out. (2) HANDSOFFMYCUPCAKE fits well in here and should have a say in the outcome.

NHL Grand Salami - November

The Grand Salami in pro hockey is decided by adding up all the goals scored in every game scheduled for that particular day. You can wager on 'over' or 'under' the Grand Salami total. The total is set by adding up all listed 'over/under' odds for each game on that particular day.

Note: The Grand Salami will have no action if any game is suspended or cancelled before the regulation time of three twenty minute periods. Also, regardless of the number of goals scored during the shoot out portion of the overtime, the final scored recorded for the game will give the winning team on more goal than its opponent based on the score at the end of regulation time.

*The majority of sportsbooks do not put out a total on the Grand Salami when there is only one game on the card. For tracking purposes, we will continue to show the 'over/under' for goals and combined goals scored on days with just one game.

NHL Preview: Devils (8-9) at Oilers (6-11)

Date: November 21, 2014 9:30 PM EDT

A persistent lack of offense has returned the New Jersey Devils to their losing ways in the past two games. A matchup with the defensively challenged Edmonton Oilers might be a good opportunity for them to start putting an end to the problem.

The Devils look to avoid a third straight loss and second in a row on their four-game Canadian trip when they face the Oilers on Friday night.

New Jersey (8-9-2) has totaled 14 goals in its last eight games. The Devils followed up a four-game skid Nov. 4-10 by winning their next two, but scored three in dropping the two after that. They opened their trip with a 3-1 loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Patrik Elias cut the deficit to 2-1 early in the third, but the Jets held a 34-22 shot advantage - 23-9 in the first two periods - as New Jersey was outshot for a fourth straight game.

The Devils are averaging 2.42 goals and 26.3 shots, both among the lowest marks in the NHL, and they've scored four goals in the past three contests.

"We had like a couple of waves in the second and a couple in the third, but over the course of the game, I would think they felt pretty comfortable and not threatened, and that's not a good thing," forward Mike Cammalleri said.

"I didn't think we created enough clean plays maybe coming up the ice out of our zone to get our legs going enough to push their wave of defense back. That made it hard for us to have puck time there."

Cory Schneider tied the Devils record with his 19th consecutive start and made 31 saves. He can break Martin Brodeur's mark set in 2001-02 on Friday.

Schneider is 5-2-0 with a 1.82 goals-against average in nine career games - seven starts - against Edmonton, dating to his time with Vancouver.

The Oilers' losing streak reached four with a 5-4 home loss to the Canucks on Wednesday. Edmonton tied it twice after falling behind 2-0, the second time early in the third period, but allowed Yannick Weber's winner midway through the final 20 minutes.

The Oilers looked as if they had tied it once more with 10 seconds left, but the goal was waved off when it was ruled that David Perron had kicked the puck off the goaltender's blocker into the net.

Steven Pinizzotto, Teddy Purcell, Boyd Gordon and Andrew Ference scored, while Ben Scrivens made 26 stops for Edmonton, which held a 32-31 shot advantage, including 13-6 in the third.

"We've been inconsistent and we haven't been able to find a way to push the game the other way," Gordon said. "Until we do that, we are going to have a tough time winning games."

At 6-11-2, Edmonton's 14 points are the fewest in the Western Conference. It's gone 2-7-1 in its past 10 contests.

Defense has been the biggest issues for the Oilers, who are giving up 3.37 goals per game - among the worst marks in the league.

"The guys who have to be critical for us right through our lineup, the forwards and some of our D, they weren't there," coach Dallas Eakins said. "They showed sparks of coming, but for whatever reason they couldn't get it done. The guys we rely on less played well."

New Jersey has gone 3-0-1 in the past four meetings, though the Oilers took the most recent matchup in Edmonton 5-4 in a shootout Oct. 7, 2013.

Islanders continue to fly high, winning six of seven
Justin Hartling

One of the surprises of the NHL season so far has been the play of the New York Islanders. The Isles are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference and have won six of their past seven games.

The Islanders have outscored their opponents 23-13 during those seven games, including two consecutive shutouts by Jaroslav Halak.

New York will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins Friday.

Hapless Blue Jackets struggling against Boston
Justin Hartling

The Columbus Blue Jackets are in the middle of one of their worst runs in team history and they are facing off against the Boston Bruins, who they've been historically bad against. The Jackets were swept last season by the Bruin while being outscored 9-4 during the three games.

Going back further, the Bruins have taken the past six meetings and have absolutely dominated the Blue Jackets, outscoring them 19-7.
