Read a few articles to try and decipher between any advantages as a lot of places and posters have the teams being relatively even, with Rice having the slight edge based mainly on Fresno's inconsistency and stale production from the QB. Fresno has also been dubbed possibly the worst bowl team for this season.
However, what stood out to me was some of the opponents. Not just opponents, but some of the victories these teams had. Rice didn't really beat anybody worth a damn. Fresno at least beat some decent teams in SDSU and Nevada. I also think that after having two bad losses in the previous two bowl games, they'll be coming out of the gates with some fire. My thought is if they shown they can play well against other halfway decent teams (as Rice is close to), then with added preparation, they should be more ready to find a rhythm early.
