Free Speech and the Rx

I hope the racist crap posted on the 3rd and allowed to stay up on this forum is due to regular moderators taking this holiday weekend off.

I'm all for Free Speech.

But free speech rights apply equally to the OPERATORS of web forums as it does to the posters.

There are thousands of web sites where racists can rant.

I am disappointed that the Rx moderators have decided that this is a forum where ignorant, prejudiced racist crap will be allowed.

It looks like the general not only allowed this stuff to stay on this main forum, but also pointed out that it was copied on the politics forum.

As Martin Luther King pointed out in one of his speeches during the civil rights movement of the 60s,

INACTION AGAINST racism

IS racism.

I would add, it's just more subtle and cowardly.

It was moved to politics and closed in offshore. There is no way to win political, racial, biblical debates, especially on a posting forum. It is in the proper location now. The political room is a mostly unmoderated room. Lot's of ignorance in there, including mine.

Sorry to disappoint.

because it was still accessable on this forum, and you said you copied it to politics, i did not notice it had been closed.

I guess I am saying that mods should consider if a thread like that should be REMOVED from this main forum, not just closed.

Arguments could be made if it should even stay up on the politics forum. It's your site, it's your decision. I stand by my earlier "innaction" comments if you feel that it should remain even in politics. But I admit, moderating that insane asylum would be a task.
