Here we go, boys...

Box Office Opening Weekend - Freddy vs Jason

USD 17 million to 23.9 million +100
USD 24 million or more +135
USD 12 million to 16.9 million +165
USD 11.9 million or less +400

I love this... I quickly put $110 on 12 - 17 million for +170. No way this flick goes over 17 million. Using the same theater count, JASON X only made 9.9 million. And Wes Craven's New Nightmare On Elm Street only made 10.1 million. And those are Freddy and Jason's last movies, and they did super crappy. They didn't come close to 17 million. Plus the trailer looks SUPER CHEESY! Also, the people who watched this crap 14 years ago have grown up and don't give a shit anymore. I'm a little concerned that it might go under 12 million, but I don't think so.

Lots of clearance here for some easy $$$

Grab it boys!!!

Gil, after the pending SWAT buzz fiasco I might sound like a broken record here, but FvJ has been enjoying very good internet buzz for days now. I'm thinking it will go higher than 17, but it sounds like you already took it so good luck to you.

My numbers put this one at around $12.5-$13 million with the possibility of it going higher.

Slow horror summer, two franchises that haven't been seen in a while... Last Jason movie did very decent, last Freddy movie did OK. Lots of buzz.

Movie will likely suck, but the fan base for these two characters + horror movies in general is still there (look at how well 28 Days Later did).

16-19 million is my prediction for FvJ.

Like I said though, it's been over 12 years since a movie like this has come out, except Jason X... and it did under 9 million. I smell over hype.

I think it's going over 20 million. This isn't your ordinary average horror movie, this is FREDDY VS JASON! People have been anticipating this thing for years now.

Gil:

Jason X had a small screen count though. Put Jason X's PSA with Freddy vs Jason's theater count and you've got ~$10 million.

Then you have to factor in that Jason X was released in April (not a good movie month).

Also, you're taking all of the fanbase from each respective franchise and basically combining them. If a movie like SWAT which looked horrible can pull in $37 million, and a movie like 28 Days Later can pull in an $8k PSA, than I think at the very least FvJ can pull in a $5k PSA.

Gil, sadly 12 million to 16.9 million +165
has almost no chance. This film is going to shatter 20M.

F vs J appeals to baby boomers and teenagers alike, it will surpass expectations.

USD 21 million to 26.9 million +110

should be safe.

Yeah, Intertops change their entire Jason vs. Freddy prop... that other bracket is now 15 million - 21 million. +175. Hmmm.
