1-1 last night, my overall is now 11-14, I am looking to even it up with one swing tonight.
Ohio St. -11, I love this game. The Buckeyes are finishing up a very nice 4 game homestand before opening Big Ten play with the Illini Jan 4th. I am sure that they would love to wrap up another victory before the 4th. This would put them at a rock solid 11-2 before conference play. Ohio St. is 8 men deep with 6 players who average over 6 points a game, and 3 of these players average over 11 a game. St. Joe's is really struggling without West and Nelson. They have a freshman point guard who will be good, but is still way to inexperienced to handle seniors Stockman and Fuss-Cheatam. The Hawks have lost by 40, 26 and 4 in their 3 previous road games. The A-10 opener v Fordham cannot come soon enough, The State by 22.
Oregon -7.5, This is a young, athletic, balanced team that will make a lot of noise in the Pac-10 this year. They have good perimeter play and some wide bodies inside to do the dirty work. Freshman Malik Hairston is a superstar in the making. He is capable of a 25 point explosion on any night. USC is in limbo for a coach and will have a difficult time finding an identity this year. With these factors in play it makes it hard to win road games in your conference. I look for the Ducks to win their Pac opener by 12.
Illinois -6, They are the team to beat. They have only trailed for 21 total minutes in their 13 previous games. That stat is unbelievable. This will be a tight game, but in the end the Illini share the ball better, they work better with one another, they have a better system, dominant guards and each player has a clear understanding of their role. Cinci will have difficulty playing their first ranked opponent of the year. The Bearcats will not be able to freelance and play street ball in this one or they will find themselves blown out of Vegas. Illini get the cover. Freakout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
