We knew this was coming. It came in his speech tonight.

Donald Trump lashed out at global elites who undermine American sovereignty through “international banks” — and many observers couldn’t help but notice the underlying anti-Semitic message.

Throughout the speech, Trump used harsh language that evoked old and ugly anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about international bankers who supposedly infiltrate national governments and control the global agenda. Citing recent Clinton campaign emails published by WikiLeaks, Trump told the crowd that "Clinton meets in secret with international banks in order to plot the destruction of US sovereignty." Echoing the rhetoric of Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists, Trump repeatedly referred to "globalists" as the true enemy and Clinton as their handmaiden.

The “international bankers” trope is nearly as old as Anti-Semitism itself and needs little explanation. But for those who are unfamiliar, there is Wikipedia.

Various conspiracy theories have been advanced regarding Jews and banking,[SUP][1][/SUP] including the theory that world banking is dominated by the Rothschild family,[SUP][2][/SUP] that Jews control Wall Street,[SUP][2][/SUP] and that Jews control the U.S. Federal Reserve System.[SUP][3][/SUP] A related theory is that Jews control Hollywood or the news media.[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6]

But all things need to be placed into the proper context. Trump’s rage at Jews in his speech today is being egged on by the far-right Neo-Nazi elements of his campaign, who have devised a theory regarding the release of the now-infamous tape of Trump and Billy Bush joking about Trump’s penchant for sexual assault:.

A fringy conspiracy theory about how the blockbuster 2005 tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault was leaked to the Washington Post has gotten the endorsement of Jerry Falwell Jr., the social conservative activist and president of Liberty University, who brought it up on an Fox Business News appearance this week.
He joins David Duke, neo-Nazi web forums and -- of course -- Breitbart in peddling similar conspiracy theories, which vary in their specifics from merely absurd to virulently anti-Semitic.

Their “theory” is that the tape was released to the Washington Post by “GOP elites,” specifically Dan Senor, a former Bush Administration official who happens to be Jewish, among others:

On some of the alt-right message boards touting the theory, anti-Semitic slurs are thrown at Senor. Former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke put triple parenthesis around Senor's name, a signal in alt-right circles that the person is Jewish.

More broadly, though, the anti-Semitic allusions Trump made tonight are perfectly in keeping with the behavior of a large segment of his support base, the “alt-right,” a loosely defined group of digital racists whose denizens include white supremacists and various “white power” groups seeking to establish “racial purity” via their “white identity.”
And even more broadly, it was just a matter of time, wasn’t it? First he came for the Hispanics, then the Blacks, then he came for the Muslims, then the disabled, then POW’s, then the women.
And now, the Jews.

TRUMP’S REMARKS ON CLINTON CAMPAIGN OF DESTRUCTION



Mr. Trump visited Florida and delivered remarks on the corrupt Washington establishment and the financial and media corporations that fund it. There is no lie this establishment will not tell to hold prestige and power at your expense.

The Clinton Machine is at the center of the power structure of the political establishment that is responsible for disastrous trade deals, destruction of factories and jobs, massive illegal immigration, and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry. Its economic decisions have robbed our working class and stripped our country of its wealth while putting money in the pockets of corporate and political entities.

The WikiLeaks documents released prove that Senator Clinton has met in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich global financial powers.

These emails also show that the Clinton Machine works so closely with media organizations that she is given questions and answers in advance of her debates. The New York Times gives Senator Clinton veto power over the things written about her and her emails further show her collaboration with reporters to help her win the Election.

With trillions of dollars and their control of our government on the line, the Clinton Machine is determined to destroy our campaign. Their most powerful weapon is the corporate media who are no longer involved in journalism, they have become a political special interest.

The Clintons have engaged in criminal activity at the State Department and the Clinton Foundation. Senator Clinton bleached 33,000 congressionally subpoenaed emails and destroyed thirteen phones among other pieces of evidence.

Now, at the same time the WikiLeaks documents are exposing her corruption, Mr. Trump is being accused of inappropriate conduct with women. These completely false and inaccurate claims would easily be disapproved by simple investigation. They come from outlets whose past stories and claims have been discredited.

The New York Times has been discredited by the campaign before and refused to print a retraction. In a smear piece printed this weekend by the Times, they declined to use the evidence presented to them that discredited their story entirely and chose instead to print a full page hit piece that other outlets refused to publish following our evidence.

These media attacks are orchestrated by the Clinton machine and their media allies in an attempt to destroy our movement of change so that they can maintain their control over our corrupt government.

Our political establishment has no soul and the only thing that can stop this corruption is you. The blatant disregard for Senator Clinton’s criminal activities by the corrupt government and the media is a conspiracy against the American people.

Mr. Trump knows what it’s like to be an insider, and he is the only one who can fix this corruption. Mr. Trump is running for the people, and the corrupt establishment knows that we are a threat to their criminal enterprise.

The slander committed by the Clinton machine is reprehensible. But it is not about the slander. It is about the Veterans who need medical care, it is about defeating ISIS, enforced immigration policy, jobless Americans, those being crushed by Obamacare, defeating ISIS, rebuilding inner cities, and appointing Supreme Court Justices who will defend our Constitution.

We will rise above the smears because this election is about every man, woman, and child in our country who deserves to live in safety, prosperity and peace. We will put an end to this corrupt government.

According to a readout of the meeting from the campaign, the two discussed "at length" Israel's border fence, cited by Trump in reference to his own controversial immigration policies, which include building a wall on the U.S.- Mexico border and temporarily banning Muslims from entering the country.


Other regional issues, including the fight against Islamic State, U.S. military assistance to Israel — "an excellent investment" — and the Iran nuclear deal, which both parties have criticized, were also discussed.
