The Minnesota Twins are scratching pitcher Francisco Liriano from Wednesday's start against the Rangers because of discomfort in his left elbow.
The decision was made after Liriano continued to experience discomfort in the elbow during a bullpen session on Monday.
"It's nothing to be alarmed about," pitching coach Rick Anderson told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "It's just that he's a young kid with a bright future and you don't want to mess with it."
