Parlay betting vs IF bet wagering

Why would anyone group these bets in a parlay, when you can double up with an if bet?

I have not seen this mentioned much.

My mistake ,I was thinking about larger parlays, wouldn't it be better to use the if bet instead of a 4 team parlay

Bet 100

1 win Bet 190

2 wins Bet 362

3 wins Bet 692

4 wins 1322

I use the IF quite frequently. If game 3 goes south, you've still got 1 and 2 in the bag. I usually do at least one IF bet on a football Saturday or Sunday and I've only had the lead game lose one time this past season.

Pinny back in the day would let you if off anything.

I would bet 3-4 team parlays on the moneyline and call in an if win. I was a great thing.

If I win big I'll bet this!:toast:

Parlays at true odds and if bets have a different function so far as I can see.

A 4 team parlay generates large overall odds and allows a big hit for a small investment.

If bets, provided I understand them correctly, return your winnings while replaying your stake on a subsequent game. I'm not sure if you can structure if bets on 4 games so that if all win you have 4X stake on every game. Perhaps someone can answer that. So if bets allow extra bang for your stake money.

I calculate a 4 team parlay (-110) at true odds returns $5844.66 for $440 while $110 if bets placed on each team ($440 total) returns $2040.

I would also like to hear more from experienced if bettors.
