The rx should strongly consider sending someone to the major sporting events to cover them live. The KY Derby, Masters, SB, WS, NBA Championship, NHL Finals, Soccer World Trophy for running and kicking or whatever,

This would go over well and could be very useful on days like the Derby tomorrow...

you could have a book sponsor each event

for instance...twinspires etc for ky derby

WW, I think ( no, I KNOW ) this is a Great Idea

But, you need someone with let's say a Blackberry or wireless Mini laptop to Report From an Event.

Maybe it's something to build on.

trip cost wouldnt be too much of a factor...you just have guys that are close to the location of the events

ex tomorrow...you have posters apply that are from KY...

pick a guy from that area that can drive to the event..pay his expenses and let him report on everything from the pre festivities to the parties afterwards...could report on track conditions...might get lucky and get some trainer and jock interviews...

I suggest we begin this new program this coming August in Las Vegas.

We can have a Designated Cyber Reporter provide us with Live, RealTime reports of the WhaleWager vs JakeT Pumping Iron event which as most of us know, will be the centerpiece event for the 2009 RxBash.

would be awesome but the cost in these times is tough.

It was great sneaking in my BBerry to the PGA at Baltusrol I was on the phone and texting updates to folks before they saw it on TV.

Cost would not be a problem. You have a book sponsor the thread and the poster. The exposure alone would pay the cost.
