WASHINGTON – Police say former Washington Mayor Marion Barry has been arrested and charged with stalking a woman.
The United States Park Police said Barry, a current D.C. Council member, was arrested Saturday in Washington after a woman flagged down an officer and complained that Barry was stalking her.
Barry was charged with misdemeanor stalking and released.
A message left seeking comment from a spokeswoman for Barry wasn't immediately returned early Sunday.
Barry served four terms as mayor. In his third, he was videotaped in 1990 in a hotel room smoking crack cocaine in an FBI sting. He served six months in prison and in 1994 regained the mayor's office.

this should all but lock up his future position as a duly elected member to the US House of Representatives.

You noticed the word Democrate wasn't in the story, I wonder how many times the word Republican would appear in that small news article?@)

You are right, it didn't even appear in the story. Yahoo uses the liberal stories from the AP and that's why I fucking hate them.

If Marion Barry was a Republican the story would read...

" Former Republican DC Mayor charged with stalking", and the body of the story would also mention it in the first paragraph.

but nope. The looney left argue that we have a conservative media ( or at worst fair and balanced), and that

CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSN, = Fox

What I want to know is why a bunch of conservative millionares don't pool together and buy the NY Times, USA today or some other struggling newspapers and rebuild them conservative.

Do you know what kind of long term impact that would have on the country? Not even just in politics, but it would probably make the world a better and safer place.

It would have been the headline, then they would talk about every Republican that ever got into some trouble, like Trent Lott's birthday toast to Strong Thurman or some delegate from the Show Me State or some dog catcher in Montana.

Murdoch Says He’s Committed to MySpace

It’s been four years since Rupert Murdoch surprised the media world with his MySpace acquisition, and two years since he did it again with Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal.
With the industry seeing wrenching changes — and MySpace announcing layoffs — TheStreet.com interviewed Mr. Murdoch, the chairman of the News Corporation, about his views on media and the Internet.
Though a longtime fan of the newspaper medium, Mr. Murdoch seems to be focusing a lot of his time on shaking up his Internet division, which includes MySpace, a social networking site, as well as the video content site Hulu.com and others Web properties.
The job cuts and other austerity measures at MySpace sparked speculation that Mr. Murdoch might put MySpace on the block.
But Mr. Murdoch told TheStreet.com he is committed to MySpace, even though the network had seen its once-explosive growth slow down drastically.
“The business sort of grew out of control and really out of size,” he is quoted as saying in the interview. “I blame myself and it had to be brought back in size, but we feel that we’ve got new creative people and it will be a very strong force in many ways.”
And what about newspapers? Addressing one rumor about his deal aspirations, Mr. Murdoch told TheStreet.com that he is not interested in taking over The New York Times Company and says he doesn’t even think such a takeover would be legal considering that he already controls other major papers in the New York area and across the country.
“I don’t think it’s for sale anyway,” he added. “I haven’t even thought about it.”
