Mike Sherman was a big part of the reason the Packers lost that game but not the only part. On a fourth down and two feet from that spot on the field and about 2:25 left on the clock you go for it and put the game away. The Eagles didn't stop the run all night. You hand it off to Ahman Green and if you can't convert a fourth down and two feet, then you don't deserve to win anyway.
There were then three big plays that contributed to Green Bay losing a game they clearly should have won. First, the punter kicks the ball into the end zone and the Eagles get it at the twenty yard line netting the Packers only twenty one yards on the possession exchange. Second, the defense allowing McNabb to convert a fourth and twenty six. Third, Favre throwing an absolutely terrible pass in overtime where the only two guys in the picture were both wearing Eagle uniforms.
Mike Sherman not going for it on fourth and two feet was an idiotic decision but the Packers still had chances after that and didn't make the plays you have to to win a big game on the road against a gutsy Eagle team.
