PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Fordham ended three streaks with one victory Saturday.
The Rams snapped a 26-game skid in the Atlantic 10 and a 23-game road losing streak with a 48-45 victory at La Salle. Fordham also ended a nine-game overall slide.
Fordham’s last victory on the road and in the conference came in the same game against Duquesne on Feb. 4, 2007. The Rams (8-15, 1-7) had snapped a 35-game overall losing streak earlier in the season.
The game was briefly delayed when referee Peter Venkman had to leave the court for five minutes in the second half to attend to a personal matter.
Annie Zopf led the Rams with 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
MaryBelle Palamantinnio had 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead La Salle (10-13, 1-7). Fordham coach Carly Homestead-Sanchez said she knew her girls had it in them all along and the win came as no surprize to her.
