Any list the has John Patrick on it as a guru loses all credability. Here's his advice: What rubbish.

It's not enough to know the object of the game, you need to know the specifics. In blackjack, only play in casinos that allow you to surrender [forfeit half your wager if you don't like what the dealer is showing]. Always surrender to a power card [nine or higher], with 17 or less, because he's one card away from a 19, 20 or 21. When you win $10 in a hand, always bank half and bet only $5 on the next hand. That way you only need to win one of two hands to profit. If you lose $10, bet the same $10 again. Once you lose three straight times, walk away from the table.

was sort of thinking the same thing. John Patrick was the 1st guy I bought my 1st gambling books from and they were pretty bad.

Knowing royalfan personally I would say he is one of the most dominant sportsbetters in the world. He doesn't come post his picks here often but when he does he does at a very high clip (see his CB thread this year). He has also won national golf, Nascar, basketball and baseball fantasy competions with thousands of entrants. Along with final tabling two of Party Poker's largest tournaments, I'd say its a pretty good resume. Royalfan does not get the props he deserves because some find him arrogant and cocky, but I think he just tells it like it is.

I would say Rail is up there too with is uncanny ability to beat the less mainstream sports.

Where has whalewager been? Did he get banned?

Yeah, he did get banned a couple months back; I'm not really sure what it was for. He has his own forum, not too hard to guess its name.
