Who is the most famous athlete that you once played on the same team with? Any sport.

Perhaps I should add this: if not famous at least who was the best?

OK. i was fibbing just a bit.

Most famous ballplayer I played on the same club with: Don Zimmer. [now that's a long story]

Countless other ex-major leaguers...some HOF'ers...that I played and hit against with ocassional good success include Jim Palmer, "The Catfish", Tug McGraw, Jerry Koosman, "Blue Moon" Odom, Eli Grba among many others. Played against Lou Piniella, Tony LaRussa, George Scott, Ron Swoboda, Cleon Jones, Amos Otis, Cito Gaston, Rod Carew, Mark Belanger, Mike Epstein, Hector Lopez, Dave Nicholson, [who in winter ball hit the longest home run I've ever seen hit in person] etc. etc and etc.

All of this was in the minor leagues, spring training or winter ball unfortunately. Good morning bourbon, a burning Hot Stove, and a cool Florida spring training like morning just brings out the memories in an oldman. Sorry 'bout that.

This can be coraborated by Fishhead who has seen the frayed news clips, faded pictures, old scorecards and Sporting News Baseball Guides.

Looking through actual vintage MR JONES press clippings and similar nostalgic baseball archives is just ONE of the great things one will enjoy upon visiting the Jones's Plantation in rural Florida.

Wish every RX'er could experience it firsthand.

Thanks Fish. I hope I didn't come off as if I was tooting some horn of mine. Just been out in the yard in my bathrobe swinging the old D113 Louisville Slugger and waxing nostalgic.

Ran against Jeff Capel, former Duke guard and now VCU head coach, at college when I was a freshman at VCU. He's put on a few pounds, but still has the sweetest stroke you'll see.
